Our project was a 430 sqft hardwood floor installation across three bedrooms of our new home. We began requesting quotes mid-December targeting an installation date before the New Year. We were fully aware about the challenges of finding installers that could accommodate the required dates, especially on such short notice.
Upon contacting our local RONA store, we were happy to hear that their sub-contractor, A&H Flooring, were able to commit to an installation date between Christmas and New Year's Eve. Scheduling and coordination of the project took place via telephone through Marciel at A&H Flooring, who was courteous and professional at all times. Following a measuring appointment, which was conducted by Angelo of A&H Flooring, we were referred back to RONA in order to select our choice of hardwood and to agree payment terms and conditions.
At RONA, our Project Sales Coordinator, Venilia, went above and beyond to secure our preferred flooring option from another store just two days before the installation date. She delivered the materials personally to our home the day before the installation was scheduled.
On the day of the installation, two A&H installers arrived on time despite inclement weather and provided solid workmanship on our new bedroom floors. As the job proved more time intensive than initially communicated, a second day of work had to be scheduled, which resulted in a minor inconvenience for us. However, thanks to the flexibility of the A&H team who made sure to accommodate our schedule, the job was finished just one business day later.
Angelo returned to join his installers for the final walk-through and provided us with helpful advice on how to best ensure longevity and proper maintenance of our floors. Again the interactions were courteous and respectful right until the end. Customer concerns were taken seriously by both Marciel and Angelo and our RONA contact was a reassuring figure throughout the process.
While this triangular relationship between A&H Flooring, RONA and us meant that a few more emails had to be written, we considered the fact that our installation agreement was with RONA, and not the installer, as a positive factor that was worth the additional layer of communication. We know from prior negative experience that dealing with contractors can at times be rough and not always in the customer's best interest. We therefore appreciated that our RONA contact ensured customer service levels and addressed any misunderstandings immediately (e.g. scheduling the second day of installations and final customer sign-off process).
Overall, a very positive experience due to A&H's workmanship and RONA's customer service standards and highly recommended in this combination.
