Emailed requesting quote (included pics of work area and breaker panel) and within 10 minutes had a response from Craig. His employee (a nice Chilean fellow) arrived 2 weeks later at scheduled time. We discussed options for wire routing and location of wall charger. He promptly finished work in 2 hours - breaker panel was in garage.

Other places I received quotes from assumed I knew nothing about electrical work and tried to have me pay for a new panel saying mine was not 200amps. It clearly is.

This was the second time I hired Lawson Electric to complete start to finish electrical work including: all new rough-in, upgraded 200 amp panel, rough-in for backup generator and to install all plugs, switches and fixtures. The process couldn't have been better. Craig was able to provide his design expertise while being practical and keeping on budget. I also appreciated his input regarding rough-ins future expansion that would result in a higher cost if it weren't done during the rough-in stage. The work completed was an electrical service panel and meter upgrade. The home is owned by an elderly parent who still had the original 100 amp service with fuses. The electrical stack was rusted and corroded and needed replacement as well. Lawson electric installed a new electrical stack, conduit, moved the meter to the outside of the home, and installed a new panel with breakers. The work was completed over 2 days with the majority of the new service installed before the house was disconnected for the changeover. The house was disconnected for a few hours before being reconnected to Toronto Hydro. Lawson electric coordinated with ESA and Toronto Hydro on behalf of the homeowner and arranged for the safety inspection, the disconnect and reconnect. The installation was completed with minimal disruption and the work site was clean with all the older equipment removed from the home. I would recommend Lawson Electric to homeowners needing electrical work done. If you have senior parents who need work done, you can leave Craig and his employees at their home and not have to babysit the contractor. The owner is polite and well spoken and is easy to deal with and doesn't try to upsell you on services that you don't need. They also don't leave your home a mess and wear covers on their work boots.

Following a toilet back up and flood, I discovered that the basement wiring was not to code, and was in fact a fire hazard. Craig investigated the entire basement, made the necessary changes to the wiring, replaced lights and light switches which were installed improperly and did the entire work in an efficient, capable manner.

Craig doesn't say a lot but he gets a lot done quickly. The price for the entire job was very reasonable.

The work was complete very quickly and to the exemplary standards of the ESA. The inspector came by and approved the permit submitted by the contractor. I would hire him again.
