Just read the review above. And clearly its false. As a retired inspector for the gas company the procedure is as follows.
If a red tag was issued. And the gas company comes to the home the inspector will not shut off the gas unless he agrees there is still a violation in place. Whether or not a homeowner agrees with the decision the gas company are providing the fuel and has the right to turn of service for non compliance of the B149. Code.
Now, if a red tag was issued and the problem(s) have been correct the service will be left on. Clearly who ever was at your home agreed with the heating contractor. Otherwise they would have left the gas on. Gas company is there to make sure it's safe. Remember you are dealing with a fossil fuel on your home. Safety is the most important part.
Unfortunately the gas code overrules your wants or what you seem to think is correct. You dont have to agree with the contractor. You have to respect the laws in Canada. Safety will always come first.
I dont know this company. I repair my own gas fired appliances. I dont like to see false statements posted.
