New HE Furnace, New Humidifier & New A/C

Appliances are on Leased Contract from Eco Energy for 10 years (rent to own). Initial installer of this company was absolutely incompetent. The Humidifier was hooked up incorrectly - caused leak and damage to basement (laminate flooring). The newly installed appliances had numerous problems from day one. The furnace loss power 3 times - twice in space of 5 days apart in the middle of NOV. The pipes on the A/C froze solid. And, the pipes leading to the furnace froze too. Every time the company was called, no one showed up. I had to call ECO HOME FINANCIAL SERVICES (a separate company) who finances ECO ENERGY. It was only with their help that I was able to reach anyone to have a technician sent to repair the furnace each time. And, they even sent the same technician to my home when I requested that they send someone else. This company does not listen to the customer. This same technician even accused me of taking his tool. Can you imagine? BTW, nothing was left behind on his first visit. I was expected to jump and change my whole working schedule in order to accommodate them - and, they did not show up. Finally, I had enough. With persistence, I was able to finally reach the Personal Assistant of the President of the Company. When a 3rd party contractor was hired by ECO ENERGY, I was not able to change my work schedule suddenly. The Customer Service Manager simply started quoting me that if I refused the appointment, then, I was waiving the terms of the contract etc. ..... Therefore, I had to pay almost $12,000 to terminate the lease etc. This is when I made it my project to get to the top. And, it did not stop there. I had to hire lawyers on my behalf.
I could go on in specific detail as to what took place. However, each and every home owner should be aware that this company is not what it represents. There have been numerous complaints to the BBB and Ministry of Consumers. I have even called the OPA asking why this company is still part of the programme - no answer.
Therefore, potential home owners, we are left on our own to find out. One thing for sure I have learned and know ..... ALL FURNACES AND HWT MUST be installed by a Licensed TSSA contractor. If, anyone knock or calls you about upgrading etc. ....... Find out the name of the supposedly Licensed TSSA contractor's actually name to make sure that it is indeed true. Don't let the company in until you see that the matching name on the person's tag. The TSSA identification should be with contractor at ALL TIMES.
I like to think of myself being resourceful and educated. However, being a home owner is different world all together. We put our trust to people that we think and hope that have scruples - not so, only profits in mind. I have learned a few things along the way. Hence, my reason for taking the time to let people know what is out there. Remember TSSA is there for our protection. When I had called them, RED TAG had to be placed on the furnace and HWT. Just goes to show you how things were done by this company from the very beginning.
About the leaking? I will leave you with this - The guy had used electrical tape as opposed to a proper plumbers clamp. When I had told him firmly that a clamp had to be used, his exact words, "No problem, I know what I do."
One last thing that you should know about this company - The technicians do not communicate with customers. I mean exactly what I say - they refuse to answer direct questions and, they speak Chinese between themselves and ignore you as the customer. When you call to speak with someone at head office, be prepared to going on a wild goose chase.

Approximate cost of services:
$22,000.00
