We recently purchased older home in Hamilton and found out during our inspection that there was vermiculite in our attic. We had it tested and came back positive for asbestos. We were overwhelmed as we did not expect to add asbestos removal to the cost of our renovation. Our inspector recommended Healthy Environmental for a removal quote.
Henry spent over an hour with my partner and I. He went over every detail of the process and offered a lot of insight into the rebate programs for insulation. The cost was comparable with other contractors but we decided to go with Henrys company because of his expertise.
We signed and within a week a crew was there to remove and replace the insulation.
We also got them to repair our bathroom venting. The crew was on time, friendly and so professional. They left the place spotless!
Overall, we were completely satisfied and would recommend Healthy Environmental!

Healthy Environmental messed up my attic, causing me over $5,000 in damage.

Healthy Environmental came to top-up my attic insulation to a higher R value. They sprayed insulation everywhere, including blocking all the soffit venting so air could not get out. This created a humidity sauna in my attic, causing mold, and even doing damage to the roofing plywood. We only noticed it once nail rust started oozing out of the siding.

When Healthy Environmental came to look at it, the owner Henry agreed that the insulation should not have been covering the soffits, and said he would look over his notes to see what the agreement had said (did he think we asked him to cover up the airflow?). He refused to refund us the payment, refused to take any blame, and tried to offer us a "at cost mold remediation" - only that doesn't solve the wet insulation that needs to be removed and replaced, and it doesn't help the plywood that is rotting in our attic. Henry also refused to talk to me on the phone about it afterwards.

What kind of an organization blows insulation haphazardly without consequence? I would never use Healthy Environmental for anything and strongly recommend against anyone else using them.
