Uptown Appliance

Just had another great experience with Uptown Appliance last week. I've been planning on writing this review for over a year and finally made the time. I have several rental properties and over the past three years, have used Uptown on over ten occasions. Chris, the owner, is awesome, I'll text him a description of the problem, a photo of the model label attached to the appliance and he'll respond shortly after that with what he thinks the problem is and of course the cost of parts and labor. He'll always arrive at the agreed time with needed parts in hand. If there is more than one possibility, he'll bring both parts and return the other, on two occasions, the offending part was just misaligned and no parts were needed, so just a service call. I have owned properties for over 20 years and have dealt with many trades people over that time, some good, some bad, I can honestly say that I put my experiences with Chris and Uptown are at the top.

Contacted homesteads for a leaking fridge. Chris contacted me within 15 minutes and was able to diagnose the problem over the phone.
We set a time and he arrived when he promised with the required part in hand. He explained what he was doing and was very courteous.

Dryer stopped drying and producing heat suddenly - and I wanted to see if I could fix it before having to replace it. Found Chris Lyras/Uptown Appliance through Homestars and just based on a layman's description of the problem and the model number of dryer I gave him over the phone he was able to narrow down to one of two issues and then showed up the next day with both parts in hand ready to solve the problem. He actually had it fixed within the hour and for a fraction of the cost I thought it would be. I was really impressed with his depth of knowledge and professionalism (he did a full test after the fix, including doing an airflow test on the outlet vent outside the house) and the speed in which he was able to find a solution. Can't recommend Chris enough.

Chris was recommended to me from another Homestars Vendor. I had an urgent situation with a broken fridge and 2 small kids who needed cold milk, and Chris re-arranged his schedule to fit me in. Not only did he save the day, but did so on his birthday!! Thanks Chris for the honest, prompt and fantastic service.

I recently had a great experience with Uptown Appliance. The owner Chris was very informative over the phone, picked up the parts, based on my description of the problem in advanced and showed up a touch earlier than promised. Once he was able to go through a bunch of trouble checking possibilities, he found the problem, fixed it, no expensive parts needed and it was good go. He also made a adjustment to the previous installation that was done incorrectly. I have a few rental properties and have never been
overly happy with the service I have received. I will definitely be using Chris and Uptown Appliance for any future appliance issues.

This was the most pleasant customer service experience I have ever had. Uptown was recommended to me by a friend. Chris, who is the owner, called me & said he will be at my house in 30 minutes & he was right on time. Very polite, professional & honest. Within an hour he fixed my fridge & explained in detail what the issue was. Chris even followed up with me a few days later to ensure it was working fine. I would strongly recommend you call uptown if you have any appliance issues. You won't be dissapointed

Chris from Uptown Appliances is amazing! Quick to return call and very friendly, honest, and informative. He'll walk you through everything he is doing so you know exactly what is going on. He kept me posted with the updates from the parts store and came over as soon as the parts were available. Can't say enough great things about Chris and definitely worth every penny!

Hi there I'm at bloor and Bathurst area. Chris needed a day to fit me in but he was well worth the wait. He fixed my washing machine which I need for daily use as I am home with a young child. He was fair, honest and fixed things that others overcharged for/ never fixed in the past. Don't hesitate to call him! He's awesome you won't regret it. I will use him anytime I need appliance help in the future.

Chris from Uptown Appliance returned my call promptly. He asked for a description of the problem so he would be prepared for the call. (Broiler on gas oven not lighting properly) The next day he arrived and got right to work on the problem. He did not suggest any unnecessary labor and resolved the issue quickly and effectively. He also gave me some small maintenance tips for unrelated appliances. Highly recommended, very professional.

After our stove blew up (2 weeks before Christmas!) I found Uptown Appliances on HomeStars. Chris answered the phone(!), ordered and picked up the part promptly, stuck to his quote and answered my many questions. On the positive side, now I can cook for Christmas! On the negative side, now I can cook for Christmas.
