When we developed a problem with our basement bathroom that required a complete remodelling, we immediately thought of contacting De Ponte Construction and are very happy that we did. We’d already had the opportunity to view a couple of projects completed by the De Pontes, in our own neighbourhood, which had left a lasting impression on us.

At first we were nervous, considering the fact that two of us would be working full-time from home due to the COVID pandemic, but after meeting with Robert and Helen to review our budget and discuss their proposal, we realized just how much effort they put into managing and supervising their typical renovation projects and we were immediately put at ease. In the meantime they listened carefully to our ideas, clarified our needs, then suggested a few alternatives that had never occurred to us. In the end, we decided not only to redo our bathroom, but also to remodel the kitchen area and update the lighting in our family room.

Rob and Helen were professional, remained engaged and reliable throughout the project, and proved to be a terrific resource for contemporary and stylish ideas and recommendations. They even accompanied us, when needed, to provide assistance and advice selecting fixtures and appliances. It was obvious throughout the entire process that their goal was to fulfill our dream safely, provide quality results, and adhere to our budget, while also remaining on schedule. The end result far exceeded our own vision and expectations.

I cannot overstate how reassuring it was to know that, throughout the entire time, everyone took the pandemic seriously and adhered to all precautions. All trade workers proved to be reliable, skilled professionals who not only respected our home but also remained committed to safeguarding our health and safety, along with their own. Every day was concluded with Rob and Helen checking their progress, reviewing the next day’s plans with us, and making sure that the worksite was left clean and organized for a quick startup the following day by the next trade on site. It was clear throughout the entire process that everyone had mutually respectful working relationships with Rob and Helen, which in turn added to our confidence and peace of mind. It was another example that proved to us that Rob and Helen have extremely high standards, and enforce them for the benefit of their clients.

I was very nervous about taking on this project as a female solo homeowner until I met Rob and Helen. They put me at ease and made me comfortable every step of the way! They were highly professional and walked me through every step of the process, happily answering any questions I had. I now have two beautiful bedrooms and the spa bathroom of my dreams! Everything was done on time and within my budget... which is saying a lot whilst in the middle of a pandemic! I can’t say enough good things about the De Ponte’s ... We couldn't have done our basement renovation without Rob and Helen! They managed the schedule and all the trades seamlessly which made what would have otherwise have been a stressful time for us, quite pleasant. They are very knowledgeable in all aspects of a renovation, very organized, on budget, professional and a pleasure to work with.

During a very stressfull time following a house fire,Rob and Helen not only renovated our home beyond our expectations ,but helped us mentally. They drove us to suppliers helping us to chose, countertop,(granite),kitchen cabinetry,lighting,plumbing, etc. The quality of workmanship that was performed on this project was away above Ontario code requirements.We are happy that we decided to have Rob,Helen,at De Ponte Costruction, bring the nightmare we were living to a very happy ending.

We just completed an extensive renovation including a kitchen extension, powder room and basement bar. The De Pontes were professional, responsive and respectful of our home. They were onsite daily with updates to timing and left the house as clean as possible. We were up and running in our dream kitchen by Christmas, as promised. Overall the project went well and we will use the De Pontes for future renovations.

Our home needed a major update to bring it from the 70's to current year, everything from new floors, baseboards, millwork, powder room overhaul, new ceiling, pot lights, stairs, painting and more. The De Pontes delivered what they promised, in the time they promised and kept us on budget. We were given daily and weekly updates on all work done and what to expect from all their trades people, who were all very professional and reliable. The De Pontes' attention to detail is second to none. They helped us make design and decor decisions, and accommodated the last minute changes we made. They went above and beyond by helping us deal with other little hiccups that popped up that were not part of the renovation or their responsibility. We were very happy with the professionalism with which everything was handled are thrilled with the end result. We would recommend the De Pontes wholeheartedly!

The De Pontes were referred to us by our realtor. After meeting with 3 different contractors, we were sold on Rob & Helen. They did a few projects for us. They added a beautiful new kitchen in the basement, added laundry in the basement, gutted our main floor laundry room and converted it into a powder / laundry room separated by a fantastic barn door. They also insulated and finished a store room cellar out back giving us much needed added storage. They are fantastic with communication, have great taste in finishes, they have great trades they work with and have to be the cleanest general contractors out there. Every day, our renovation zones were cleaned and vacuumed meticulously by them even when I would tell them not to bother. These are good, trust worthy people and we've recommended them to others and have hired them again to construct a laneway house for us! You will not regret hiring Rob & Helen!

Our home was looking tired and in dire need of a complete upgrade. Some of the items we wanted included an open concept kitchen, new bathroom, relocating some walls, flooring etc. It was a very large project, but Robert and Helen took it from the permit stage right through to finishing with ease. No matter what question we had, an answer was always provided making us feel confident through the entire process. All of their trades were top notch and they made sure the work area was clean and in order. Professional, courteous and well organized is the perfect way to describe Robert and Helen. Rob and Helen were an amazing team and exactly the type of general contractors we were looking for. They are honest, trustworthy and professional. Even all the various trades people that they used were excellent. It was very important for them to understand our vision for the kitchen and what we were looking for in the renovation. They helped along in the planning and layout, giving us tips and insights along the way. Throughout the whole process from planning to completion we always felt that Rob and Helen had everything under control. They provided us with timelines for various stages of the renovation and, aside from some unforeseen circumstances that they could not have really planned for, everything went smoothly and according to plan.

The worksite was always kept as clean as possible and every day after they or trades people had worked on the reno, they made sure to clean and organize the area. That was highly appreciated.

One thing that I particularly appreciated about Rob and Helen was that we genuinely felt that they wanted us to be happy with the finished product. Any time that we wanted something changed, altered or added, they were happy to accommodate. We are thrilled with the finished product and any time that we want to have something else done again to our house, they will be the first number we call.
