Very good job. Less expensive than others. They were in time and the work went smooth with no problems,.I didn't even know I had contractors working in the basement. They arranged for the inspection and for the city rebate.

I was very satisfied with my dealings with Maelstrom Ltd and, in particular, with Ivan himself. Since the work required was quite substantial, I obtained four quotes and Maelstrom and another contractor were the lowest bidders and, more or less, equivalent. I choose Maelstrom based on various alternatives that Ivan proposed and his ability to articular the advantages and disadvantages of those alternatives. In the end all the below ground drainage pipes were replaced within the house and also the rest of the property. Outside they used the 'pipe bursting' technology and within the house broke through the cement floor to replace and, in some case, redirect the pipes. On their own initiative they lowered the pipes exiting the house and relocated them so that the 'clean out' and the 'back water valve' covers would be in the garage and not in the middle of our driveway. It was a job well done.

I purchased home about 6 months ago with no conditions. Unfortunately for me, I discovered i had a water issue with my foundation. My first reaction was to repair it myself, then I had a motor vehicle accident, leaving me unable to do so. So my search began to find someone to waterproof my home properly. After a couple of estimates I began to get frustrated because I was not satisfied how the job was going to be done, especially for the prices I was being quoted.Then through a friend of mine I was refered to a company called Malestrome. I am so thankful for this referral, because after speaking with Ivan, I knew I was speaking to a contractor who knew what he was doing, and really stood by the products he used. He explained to me all the procedures of the job to be done, and right away I knew the job was going to be done properly. He also gave me a 25 year guarantee on his work as well. To make along story short, i gave the job to Malestrome, and I'M glad that I did.His worker's did an amazing job, and didn't cut any corners. Due to really bad weater the job took a little bit longer than expected, but the quality of work never changed. What I find really amazing is lvan ( owner) still calls me to see if I need topsoil or stone because of settlement, and the job was done over a month ago.Not many contractors will do that this day and aage. Al in all I highly recomend Malestrome to anyone who has waterproofing issues because they know what they are doing, There affordable and very professional

Can't express how happy I am with this company, their professionalism and friendliness took them over the top with the previous company's I interviewed for the job.
they even showed up an hour before start time which in my experience has never happened.. in fact it's usually the opposite n anyone that has had any type of construction work or renovations would understand.
the job was done exactly as I was told n withing the time frame I was given.. in my books that's a big plus. Renos are never fun!
What surprised me the most was the fact that the owner of the company would come by n check on the guys frequently n always ask if I had any questions .. even after the job was done and paid for we had the owner Ivan come the next day n double chck everything to make sure we were a 100% satisfied with the work n he stayed with us while the city inspector walked by while doing the paper work for the city rebate for the sump pump.
Now if this is not 1 of the best company's to have around for any of your water proofing needs than I can assure you that it is the only company you'll need.

Start of Easter long weekend noticed I had a ceiling leak in my newly renovated living room ceiling that once had a popcorn ceiling and with newly installed pot lights, when I noticed water droplets off one of the pot lights dripping onto my hardwood floor. Desperate to find someone I trusted, took a friends recommendation to call Maelstrom and they promptly came same day and within minutes diagnosed the source of the leak and within an hour had new piping installed and stopped the leaking immediately. Very caring & sympathetic to my circumstance and decent price; even followed up with me afterwards and they backed up their work with a long time warranty. Thank you for rescuing my home Ivan from even more damage!!

One of our stone traps was leaking water/overflowing causing damage to the floor of the counter. Maelstrom was the only company that we called that day that was able to cme in the same day, fix the problem within an hour (with new parts) and no leaks since than! Thanks for saving us from more flooding and damage. We are extremely happy with the service provided and we'll definitely use your services again!

We bought our house several summers ago and it was flawless, there were no problems with it at all, which was something new to me after being exposed to some of the issues my mother had to deal with at her "ancient" house. In the spring of this year I noticed a bit of moisture on the walls, I naturally thought it was just condensation, however as time passed by and with increasing rain, mildew began to grow on the wall, that got me worried. I called Maelstrom which was referred by a friend who also had her waterproofing job done by them. The response time to my call was great, Stan came and inspected the wall and told me that there is crack on the wall and that needs to be fixed. They were also flexible with the scheduling of the job so that I could be present while they worked. Alex and the crew were a nice bunch, they showed up on time of the day of the job, and it looked like they knew what they were doing from the get go, they explained every step of the waterproofing thoroughly and even took pictures for me to show of what they did while I stepped out for a few hours. I have had no issues with the mildew on the walls ever since. Highly recommend them. Very hard working and professional guys.

We recently had an emergency for which Stan from Maelstrom responded. He came out first thing Saturday morning to give us a quote, and was able to get the guys in that same day, two hours after we confirmed. The guys were friendly, professional and efficient. The guys were done by late afternoon, including re-cementing and cleaning up. Stan's quote was very competitive and reasonable considering this was an emergency. In fact, he was a third of what the local plumbing company quoted me! I will recommend this company and will keep their name for future reference. Thank you, Maelstrom team.
