I had an extremely disappointing experience with Let's Get Moving and cannot recommend their services. During my initial phone conversation, I was misled about the number of pods required for my two-bedroom apartment. They assured me that one would be enough, but I insisted on two. However, at the end of the day, I was charged for four pods, which was far beyond what was necessary or expected.
I specifically requested a large truck to move our belongings, but they sent a smaller one. This mistake resulted in them having to send an additional truck, significantly increasing the number of working hours and, consequently, the cost.
Initially, it was easy to reach them, but once problems started arising, it became almost impossible to get in touch. When our belongings were finally placed in storage, they were not arranged well, resulting in damage to several items, including important kitchenware and a valuable lamp.
Adding insult to injury, they sent me a document to sign just one day before the move, stating that I could not dispute the whole or any part of their charges on my credit card. On moving day, they demanded full payment over the phone before they would even finish unloading the truck, threatening to take our belongings back to the warehouse if we didnt comply.
I sent an email outlining my complaints, and a few days later, someone from their Toronto headquarters called me. Instead of addressing my concerns, they lectured me on what an estimate means, despite never having come to my home to do a proper assessment.
The only positive aspect of this experience was the movers themselves, who worked hard and did their best under the circumstances. Unfortunately, their efforts were overshadowed by the poor service and deceptive practices of this company.
I highly recommend steering clear of Let's Get Moving and finding a more reliable moving service. I also intend to report them to the BBB.
