I have relocated myself & family as we have adopted 2 small children and wanted these children to be closer to their biological parent's. As a result we needed a powder room finished in order to get the place on the market. My wife called this guy, Nick who I would assume in the business owner of Corry's Plumbing. We initially had a couple of quotes and, having quoted over the phone he suggested between $600 - 800. We booked him in on a Sunday and just wanted this job out of the way. Nick came over unloaded his tools, took a quick peek around and them told me it would be $900!! surprise, surprise - As it was a bit trickier than he had anticipated. OK, just get it done please. After about 5-6hrs work he proceeded to pack his tools away. The new sink and toilet were sitting outside the powder room and I asked why he was packing up. Oh, he then tells me that the price quoted was just for the rough in's!! This is now getting worse. I asked how much to install the 2 items. An extra $200. I said no, forget it. So, this guy charges us $900 to ROUGH IN two units. The toilet waste pipe needed to be moved approx. 3 1/2 feet, in the same joist cavity and the sink about 4 feet. Instead of running the vent into the main stack that was in the corner of the room he installed a false vent. We had issues about a month later. both the toilet and sink would be making gurgling noises. I call him up and he tells me it would probably be cheaper to contact a plumber more locally as "he would probably undercut me". I said I'm not expecting to be be charged for this and that I was charged an astronomical fee first time around. He suggested that it could have been the ladies of the house throwing used towels down the toilet. There's the sign of a master plumber there, blaming somebody else so as not to return and check out what the problem may be. I ended the conversation telling him that I would be posting a review on this site. His exact words were "you gotta do what you gotta do brother". Having brought in another plumber he put his torpedo level and showed me that the 'run' should be 1/4" per foot running out. The level in fact showed it to be running backwards!!!. I was told to report him to the plumbers union as they do not want people like this guy Nick representing the profession. A WARNING TO ALL - PLEASE DO NOT PART WITH YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY TO THIS PERSON.
