Absolute Van Lines & Self Storage

I found this company off kijji and like most consumers I checked google reviews and saw many people make negative comments. I confronted the owners with this information and was told they Are new owners. My experience was very positive from start to finish. They we very professional very good very fast and amazing. I can't say enough good things about this company. They quoted me a price and did not change the price because that was the price they quoted even though the weight was much more than quoted I was not charged a penny over then quoted. I also was not charged for extra storage time. They went above and beyond being flexible with me and my delivery day. I highly recommend with complete satisfaction of service. I moved many times and had crap movers these guys are the best. 10 of of ten on all levels and don't belive all what you read the other reviews are not true these movers are fantastic two thumbs up!

This was the worst experience of my life
Almost close to 2 1/2 months - 3 months LATE!

Sent in June, Expected in "7-10 days" then when it didn't arrive in LA when I arrived, they claimed it was an estimation and were having truck problems.
I laid back, one more week went back, they had more excuses. Another week went by, there were promises of a reduced rate (which was only about $150 for inconvenience, that's SO SO MUCH RIGHT)
Another month went by, and i've been living out of my suitcase since I moved to Los Angeles. Rotating the same amount of clothes weekly as I didn't want to invest more money into this move.
More excuses, one after the other.
And another month went by, clearly pissed, but stayed calm as I want my stuff to get there.
Then I got scolded on their end by Melani (Who doesn't work there supposedly and when I went in was told she shouldn't have been dealing with your case)

Finally they outsourced a different company in the END.
and I got my products, my work equipment, my livelihood on Sept 11.

Went back to Toronto in December and went to them to sort things out, they claimed people and management had changed and said they'd take care of it within 2 weeks. After multiple emails, nothing in return and it's almost March 2015.

If you or anyone else you know has been treated unfairly by this company "AbsoluteJokeLines"

Their "Claims" doesn't do anything, this company needs to shut down as they are only frustrating to the soul. And should learn a thing or two about customer service. Before taking on big jobs and possibly treat people like they'd like to be treated themselves. Respect and Honesty go far and they have neither!

Movers did not deliver on confirmed date, were two weeks late. I paid an extra $50 for them to move my glass coffee table which never got delivered and is still missing among other things. My couches were FILTHY, boot prints all over them. That was back in June, its now September and I'm still getting the run around from them. The latest story was that there was a new "claims manager" and that person was bogged down in paperwork. Interestingly enough the customer service rep was not allowed to give me that person's last name. I should have clued in right away when I called them and the receptionist answered with, "How can I help you?". No company name introduction, just "how can I help you". I made a point of saying "who is this??" and when she confirmed it was Absolute Van lines I asked why she didn't answer the phone with that. She was polite enough to seem a bit embarrassed, however the next time I called sure enough she did the exact same thing.

There services were not as described. They do not deliver items as scheduled nor to they communicate when they will deliver. We have an issue with substantial damages to motorcycle and furniture and missing items and they have not responded to my emails for the last month. We paid for services they did not provide. I do not recommend a company who choses to ignore customer concerns. This leaves me no alternative but to dispute visa charges to get their attention to deal with damages due to their failure to provide adequate care of possessions and protection wooden crate for motorcycle as purchased. Clearly a failure to provide services as described and charged. To date customer service is described as NIL after sale. Very unhappy with company. They appear to also use two company names???

Long story short. They got late more then 2 weeks. They charged us extra 150 $-said they not gonna unload truck ir we wouldn't pay extra 150 for them. Reason - they have to use stairs to come on a second floor. Appartment right next to stairs same is building entrance. They refused to assemble the furniture even we handed them tools. They refused to bring piano said they dont have equipment! But how did they load it in a truck then? Lots of damage. Funny thing that most damage is on a boxes marked FRAGILE. Edmonton office simply hang up on me when I called and asked about assembling the furniture.
Now I have to pay extra money to get my piano from their warehouse.

I moved from Toronto to Edmonton using Absolute Van lines services. When I was scheduling a pick up date with this company I specifically asked when should the move happen If I need my stuff to arrive in the first couple days of September. Based on the information given (and their promise that the move will take from 7-10 days) I scheduled the move (Aug 20). The actual move day went ok and the movers were very nice and careful (except the fact that they were 2 hours late). Then the fun part started. I called the company after the long weekend (Sept 3) inquiring about whats happening. It turned out that the truck haven't even arrived to Edmonton yet. Yet I was promised that Thursday or Friday I will definitely get a call from the office to schedule the delivery date. Obviously no one called. My husband called the company on Friday and some nice guy told him that the truck is here and we should expect a call on Monday or Tuesday. Once again, no one called. When I talked to the office on Tuesday they finally admitted that everything s delayed because they are overloaded but at right this moment the container with my stuff is being unloaded. Hooray! But guess what, they been unloading this container for three days straight! Their excuse was that its a big container (52 feet) and they only have 5 guys to do the job. On Thursday I was assured that I will definitely get a call on Friday and for sure they will deliver my stuff before the end of the week. Its Friday. Since no one was in a hurry to call me I called them again. After hours of talking to different people I found out that they are planning to deliver my stuff on Monday! Apparently the company has no available trucks in the weekend so I have to wait 'till Monday. The past two weeks I spent living in an empty apartment with a one year old kid on my hands... and now I just have to continue to wait...
I don't wan to say anything bad about this company. But here is my experience... if you are planning to move, I would suggest to think twice before using Absolute van lines. There are plenty of other good companies...

I have recently moved my family from Vancouver bc to toronto. I found absolute to be great. The agent whole I dealt with was informative , answered ever question I had. The move was very easy. The movers came and were very poliet and worked well. I would recommend this comoany to anyone who is looking to move long distance
