I've been using Gold Standard for about two years now. They are very consistent with their work and they also have kept me satisfied for the past two years. I will continue to use the company for the years ahead. I would most definitely recommend this company to my friends and family. Thanks for the amazing work!

Gold Standard completed the window cleaning at my house. They came on time and did a great job. I would definitely use them again and recommended them to my neighbours.

Window and Eves trough

Window cleaning, gutter cleaning, and snow removal

I have been dealing with Gold Standard for close to five years. They originally came to our door and convinced us to try them out even though we already had another contractor. After the initial clean we were very impressed, and my wife told me we are not using anyone else but them. For years they have been completing the window cleaning at my house as well as the gutter cleaning. I also hired them afterwards to do my snow removal as my previous contractor stopped showing up. I have been very happy with their services. They are definitely not the ‘cheapest’ company out there, but my philosophy is “you get what you pay for.” Outside the fact that their timing is not always perfect - they are sometimes late 15-20 mins to the appointments. However, in my experience with dealing with contractors, that is expected. Overall I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good window cleaning company and I plan on using them for years to come.

Windows and gutters cleaning

I would like to thank Gold Standard for excellent work. They were punctual, very pleasant and did what they supposed to do and even gave us some recommendation regarding my roof. It wasn't thier job to do it, but as part of the service they were kind enough to spend extra 30 min. It's my second time I used them and I would defiantly use them next year. Thank you.

Window cleaning

Called for service on a home I had listed, and they did a reasonable job so I had them come to my own house. Decent job, decent guys. Was billed $146.90 at the end of September, and since then have been billed an additional FOUR TIMES and I only knew for sure when speaking with my bank. BEWARE.

Gutter Cleaning

This company came around early Sept (Saturday afternoon) and asked to clean the windows in our neighbourhood. Since we had it cleaned already, we passed on it, however, my husband was convinced to do that gutter cleaning. The sales associate and my husband agreed on a cash deal and said they will call before coming. He said most likely around 3pm on Sunday b/c they had other houses to do. We thought it was perfect b/c we had lunch plans and wanted to be back before they came around. My husband wanted to see them clean and see what came out of the gutters. While getting ready to leave, the workers showed up at 12pm! I answered the door and was surprised to see them. I asked how long they will take b/c we needed to leave for lunch and they told us around 30 minutes. We said, okay we will go get cash now (we were planning to get cash on the way home from lunch so we didn't have any). Anyway, my husband went to get cash. 10 minutes later(while my husband was still away), they rang the door bell and said they were done. I asked why so fast? They said they work fast...I was a bit upset b/c I wanted my husband to oversee the job but it was already completed before he came back from the bank. I thought, well it's done already so what can we do? They sat in our driveway and waited for my husband to come and I came into the house. Few minutes later I saw my husband come in all upset saying that they refused the cash deal. The deal was the price we settled on plus tax! WTH??? We were so mad we called the head office the workers left. We explained the situation and the lady worked out a price that included tax but very close to the cash deal price (few extra $ but it was alright). We gave this company our credit card details and thought it was over. I saw a charge to my CC and thought it was done. Well it WASN'T! Few days later, we saw a duplicate charge! So we called and called again...they finally gave us the refund. We then read reviews on here and thought we will never use them again. We should have done more research before agreeing to their service. But I didn't want to post any negative reviews b/c we got our money back. As for the work, don't know how well they did it b/c we never got to see it.

UPDATE: I see another charge on my CC today!!! My husband called and they said that they've had some issues where duplicate payments are being charged by their merchant. What? What does that mean? Really...regardless of who charged what, they should not be doing business this way. I regret so badly that we even gave them our credit card details. Oh well lesson learned. We are to call back and speak to another person later today...we shall see about the refund. I think it's funny how they already know about this issue but will not issue a refund right away. Instead we have to call back and speak to another person. I used to work for accounts receivable before. To charge credit cards, you literally have to punch in all the details into the machine. So I am not sure who this could've been done by a mistake. Whatever the explanation they have, duplicate charges months after services should NEVER happen.

Window Cleaning

I will start by saying that this is one of the worst overall experience with a contractor I have had in a very long time. I will describe my experience in bullet point to keep this as short as possible.
- When we signed up and booked our appointment for window cleaning the person who signed us up incorrectly wrote up our address and phone number
- First appointment was missed and when we called we were advised it was due to them being unable to find our address so we re-booked.
- Re-booked appt. was for 1 p.m. and we contacted them at 1:15 when no one arrived and were told the workers would arrive in 20 minutes which would have been 1:40 p.m.
- We advised receptionist that we would be home until 2 p.m. and if workers did not arrive before we left they WERE NOT TO DO ANY WORK without us being present.
- At 2:05 p.m. when no one had yet arrived we left and when we arrived back home we found an invoice on our front door stating they had arrived at 2:37 p.m. and had completed the work
- We called an spoke to receptionist who said we needed to speak to Andrew (Manager) about our concerns
- We spoke to Andrew later that day and provided him all the details about our concerns and he said he would look into it and get back to us. This was in early June.
- In mid October we received a letter from the company stating "after several unsuccessful attempts" to receive payment they will be sending our account to collections for payment!?
- I called and spoke to Andrew's Manager and explained all the details to her and all she kept reverting to was "if you do not wish to resolve the matter then I will be sending your account to collections". This person didn't care about the fact that I had a specific requirement that no work was to be done while we were not at the residence even after admitting to me that if a customer has a request that they are at home when the work is completed they would honour that request. This lady, while professionally spoken, had no concept of customer service.
- one additional point that came to mind as I was about to conclude. When I asked the lady what multiple attempts to reach us were done her response was that the number we had was not in service and she gave me the number she had and it was incorrect BUT when I checked the initial quote the number on that is correct and it was either they did not keep this on file or they entered it incorrectly into their database...either was not my issue.
IMHO this is a poorly managed company that is out there to make a quick buck. I did not make any mention to this prior but the work completed was poor at best but my biggest concern is with how they handle themselves as an organization and the work is secondary. The claim to use some wonderful solution that supposedly will keep your windows clean for a while but after the first rainfall there were water spots on our window. The frames of the window were also not done very well.
To summarize i would caution anyone considering to use this company and their 6.6 out of 10 rating, while better than it should be, should be an indication to those reading their reviews when determining whether to use this company or not. From my experience this was one of the worst experiences I have had dealing with a service provider in customer service, organization, and customer service and the overall experience I had as a so called customer was totally frustrating and upsetting.
