Appleseed Snowblowing Service - Ottawa Central

Their website starts off by saying they are "voted #48 for top snow removal companies in North America". #48 is nothing to be proud of, from a magazine based out of the UK! Their website also says "finalist, BBB torch awards for Marketplace Ethics" maybe self-nominated? That's a joke!
After having changed names to "Metro" Snow and Ice Management, they come out with this bogus excuse of "we've already come out too many times, we've had too much snow, so we're not going offer you any more service, unless you pay us $50 more." Shameful.
The year prior, this company did not offer rebates for lack of snow, did they?
Also, throughout, the season I've had to call and email them 4-5 times because of lack of service. I've even sent in photos of their work, or lack thereof. It's a shameful excuse of a business- good luck to anyone who tries to use their services.
They took my $300 plus tax lump payment at the beginning of the season and did not offer the service they promised.

Terrible customer service, no one available to take your call, the answering service is not even based in Ottawa, cannot assist other than to take your name/number. The online contact us form is useless, as NO one gets back to you.
Terrible - and the same kind of reviews are mounting now, it's no wonder. Quick to take your money - but no follow up even to the simplest of questions.

Quick to take your money but not quick to service. I purchased the full season package for lane way clearing and added the optional shovelling service. Over the course of the contract, I had to call at least five times and/or send emails to request service when they simply did not come. When calling, I almost always reached a message saying all trucks were out clearing or that they had cleared all drives and were now resting. This was particularly infuriating she clearly my drive had not been cleared. When I did reach a person, they claimed I had to call a different number even though I was calling the main number on their site.

For the drive clearing, they obviously drove in and pulled the snow back as there was always a layer of snow left. Over time, this compacted into a thick sheet of ice which remained for the whole season. My neighbour's hand-shovelled drive always looked dry and clear. The neighbour indicated service was very spotty while I was away on vacation.

The hand-shovelling for the front walk was more reliable, but hardly perfect. They also did not shovel in front of the garage door as the contract stated and never once shovelled the back door.

Definitely not worth the money. Disappointed as I had selected the company based good reviews.
