Calgary Home Comfort

I called Calgary Home Comfort this morning to fix my furnace as it had stopped working. The appointment was scheduled for about an hour after I called.
Aaron and Luther came out to find the problem. The time they spent trouble shooting and explaining the problem to me was greatly appreciated and is fabulous customer service. What I liked best was they tried the least expensive fix first and if that did not work only then would they move on to the more expensive fix. Luckily for me the least expensive fix worked.

My furnace stopped working and is only 9 years old so I contacted Calgary Home Comfort. Aaron came out within two hours and gave a full diagnosis and immediately identified the problem. Sylvia was able to ensure some of my repair was covered by warranty and the total cost was a 1/3 of another well know company in Calgary. I highly reccommend Calgary Home Comfort for their attention to detail, expertise and professionalism.

My second review of Calgary Home Comfort. I had Aaron back to replace my mid efficiency furnace and 20 year old hot water tank in Spring 2019. He spent a lot of time educating us about our choices and in the end we went with a 96% efficiency furnace and an on demand HW heater. Both have been great, but we did have him back in 2021 to fix a manufacturing defect with the furnace. Aaron's attention to detail is impressive. He took his time with the installation and we have a much better utility room layout now because of it. If you call to book him for a new install, he might be busy and not available for a few weeks, but this is because he is good at his job, taking time with his other customers, and responds to emergency calls.

Calgary Home Comfort provides AMAZING value for the cost. It is a family business and I like to support local when I can. It makes the argument even easier when you see the quality outputs of this company. Aaron is extremely knowledgeable and is willing to teach. You can't teach that kind of passion, that is ingrained. I am very impressed with his troubleshooting prowess, knowledge of building codes, you can see the passion in the way he approaches his work. I will be contacting them for ALL of HVAC and Water requirements. Very pleased with this company. I am recommending them for everyone I know. They are a positive influence on the industry.

I had Aaron replace my tank water heater to a tankless water heater. He explained Calgary Home Comfort was offering a promotion on a drain water heat recover system and water conditioner, and I submitted all three improvements for a provincial energy savings rebate. While Aaron was working, he was able to replace the gas line for a larger one to optimize the tankless heater. He also installed a humidifier and probably most importantly, found and explained/showed to me a very concerning installation error in my duct work. I had a dryer vent and bathroom vent combined, which mixed lint and moisture into a goopy messy, primed for problems down the road. I would have never noticed the mistake and I appreciate his vast knowledge of HVAC systems

Calgary Home Comfort, installed both Furnace and Air Conditioning in December 2018. He explained all the specifications and information on each of all the different type of units for both the Furnace and Air Conditioners. He worked in freezing conditions to get the furnace installed as quick as possilble. His after sales service is exceptional. He came to install new Filters in May 2019 and on the very same morning before he arrived, our Water Heater had leaked and had stopped working, there was no hot water. He said if we wanted to purchase a new Water Heater he would fit it that day. We purchased the Water Heater and within hours it was fitted and working.

We had the owner, Shawn, install Hoyme dampers on our mid-efficiency furnace in 2009 and we have been 100% happy with them since. This week our furnace broke and service manager Aaron came that night on his way home from a bigger job and was able to do the repair (a $99 part) the next day. 24 hour service is not their main business so I really appreciate their willingness to do such a small job. I suspect that if I had called one of the larger companies I would have been sold an entirely new system. Calgary Home Comfort specializes in some of the more interesting new energy saving technologies but they also pride themselves on their ability to repair equipment rather than just sell you a cheap replacement. Their prices are fair and their workmanship is excellent. When I can afford it I will have them back to replace my water heater too.

I was lucky enough to stumble onto Calgary Home Comfort almost 10 years ago when I needed a new furnace and hot water tank. Sean and his crew installed them, professionally and for a very good price. I have now purchased 2 furnaces, had several fireplaces serviced and all water and gas systems checked annually by Sean's crew. They will tell what you need and won't sell you what you don't need which is very impressive.

We had some work done by another plumber including a new tankless water system, gas lines and humidifier. The plumber installed the humidifer incorrectly, fried it and then moved to another province, leaving us with a broken humidifier that we had already paid for. I dealt with Lennox to replace it which they offered to do and while I was there, I met Sean from Home Comfort. Lennox required that I have a plumber bring the new humidifier and install it. I called Sean and he sent Scott to do the work and we are more than thrilled with the outcome. Scott was very pleasant to deal with, and not only did he install the new humidifier correctly, he fixed a couple of other issues the other plumber had left.

One major problem we had was a small gas leak. I even had ATCO gas come out and he didn't even find the leak, actually saying he couldn't detect anything. We continued to smell gas in our basement and when Scott was over, I asked him if he could detect it. He tested around all the new gas piping but it was when he took off the cover of one of the furnaces that he found the leak. I could smell the gas immediately and once he tested the furnace, saw it was coming from the line going into it. He tightened the line and tested it and since then we have not smelt any gas. This was a problem that not the other plumber nor atco found (and should have). I am so grateful that Scott fixed this for us as it was a possible danger to our home and to our health.

Scott was professional and not at all agressive with any sales tactics which I find so many other trades and contractors are. Using fear to sell me something does not work with me. Scott gave us peace of mind and 2 working humidifers and at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend this company for plumbing work. Thanks again Sean and Scott for all your help.
