We hired Crown and Marble (owner is Peter) and his team to install the countertops and backsplash for our kitchen reno. We thought we were hiring professionals, but that was not the case. They did a lousy installation job and a large piece of the backsplash fell. After calling Peter multiple times and him forgetting or being too busy, he finally came to look. He was rude, arrogant, dismissive, and in a rush to leave. He deflected blame to the supplier and even filed a claim with them, only for it to be rejected. It was evident that Peter's team was incompetent and failed to apply adhesive on the fallen piece of dekton.
For months, I chased Peter trying to get answers, but he did nothing to address this issue. Not once did he return a phone call, email, or message. He has taken zero accountability for the poor workmanship done by his team and has been difficult to deal with from the start.
A couple of times he said he would send someone, only no one showed up, and no one called. His only concern is receiving payment, beyond that he does not care.
I am also concerned about the quality of the workmanship in other areas. There are areas with large gaps between the slab and the wall that are clearly missing adhesive. I am concerned that it is a matter of time before another piece cracks and falls off again.
He was strongly encouraged by his supplier to do the repairs. Instead, he continued to find excuses to not do the work and deflect blame. That was when I realized he never had any intention of fixing the issue.
After enduring months of neglect and frustration, we made the decision to find a more competent installer to fix the issues, knowing it would come at considerable expense. The sloppy workmanship, lack of accountability, and Peter's arrogant attitude has left us deeply regretting our choice to engage with Crown and Marble.
