Did a home renovation, Home Depot reasonably good on the sales side although far from perfect. Installation - brutal.
Kitchen cabinets - one cabinet incorrect, one damaged, some of the design not as requested. A month after install, still waiting for the missing cabinet.
Flooring - installer measured incorrectly and did not have enough material, more would have to be ordered. Took 6 weeks for material to arrive in store but instead of being installed immediately, will have to wait 10 days until installer has time to do it.
Counters - store promises 2 weeks from time of templating until install. Counter company that HD contracts told me 3 weeks at time of templating. Person booking the installation then tells me 5 weeks, which they lower to 4 weeks when I complain. Install supposed to happen today between 11 and 1, at 12:30 company calls me to say that their truck broke down and they can not do the install until the following week (four working days later).
These are only the lowest of the lowlights, there have been more issues. The big problem is that HD does not have a way to deal with their contractors and issues after the sale. They sell, take the fees in advance and then hand it off to a third party. When the third party fails to deliver, there is no way to get the problem fixed.
Simple message. Don't deal with Home Depot on installation services. Go with a owner operator that can't pass the buck and blame problems on someone else.
