Gold Star Windows And Doors

I first had Nick come to the house to do a assessment on what was needed. He showed up on time. We talked about all the options I had with the different types and makes of windows. I then received 2 different quotes from 2 different makes of windows. I chose one (came in about 1000 cheaper then other companies) make then we made a date for Nick and the master carpenter Dan to come see the job. I put my deposit down at that time I believe it was 1/3 of the total price and made a date for the installation. I had to email Nick back to change the installation date. He was happy to do so but informed me Dan would be off the day I chose. I opted to change it to a Dan was working since I figured he already knew the job and it would run smoother. The first day of the installation Dan and 2 other gentlemen (forget their names) showed up about 9:45 in the morning and was happy to see they made it early and ready to get to work. Where very courteous and put cardboard down in the path they would be walking in and out the door. They first started on the up stairs windows. They laied down drop cloths and all making sure not to cause a mess. One of the gentlemen asked me if I had any questions on what he was doing to please feel free to ask. I did have a couple and answered them with no problem. They had to re-frame one window up stairs (in a room that is being renovated) that turned out great. The window in the bathroom was a old aluminum and had to be broken out because they where not able to unscrew it. The only thing I wish they did a little better was sweep where the window broke as a little shard of glass got into my foot ( not a huge deal). The first day they installed and capped all the windows up stairs but one. They had to come back with a little cement to fill in a gap with one window before capping. I had a frosted casement window installed in the bathroom but after seeing it installed didn't like the frosted glass. I called Nick and ask him how much it would be to replace the glass with regular. He gave me a guess that was very reasonable and told me Dan would install a regular piece the next day. The next day I was not home but had someone else in the house. They again showed up on time set up everything nice again. They did 2 double casement windows in the kitchen fairly quick and capped them. Dan also was able to install the regular glass in the bathroom window (just couldn't use it for a week so the seal could set up. All in all very happy with everything Gold Star has done and communicated with me. Definitely give these guys a call Nick and the crew will take care of you.

My experience with Gold Star was amazing! Everyone from the salesman (Roman), the expeditor and the installation team (Ivan) were customer service oriented and went the extra mile to see that I was completely satisfied. The windows are beautiful and the sliding patio doors open and close so easily! I love looking at the windows that I still haven't bought curtains for them yet! I still have a few ,more windows and at least one more door to go and I will definitely be calling Gold Star.

Ilia was punctual, professional, and low-pressure.
All of the window quotes we received from manufacturers took at least an hour, and this was no exception. Expect you'll have measurements taken, get shown a miniature version of the window, hear all about the technology of windows and how it's improved, and see a demo of how much of the heat generated from a heat lamp gets through various kinds of window construction.
The salesman from GoldStar was open about what his company could and couldn't do, especially around the sliding door, which GoldStar didn't manufacture themselves, but could order from another company on our behalf.
The price quoted was much more reasonable than any of the other manufacturers that gave us quotes.

We got 3 quotes on the work to be done - a national company and two separate local ones. The GoldStar Windows sales rep - John - came and, although he did a complete and thorough explanation of their product, he respected me (the potential customer) enough to keep it brief without any of the pressure or upselling so often common to these types of encounters. We contracted with him on the spot - mostly based on price, but the quality of the windows had to be there, too - and a few days later, an GoldStar rep was at the house to measure for precise fit. The windows were manufactured (locally, which I like!) within the promised timeframe and an appointment was set for installation. The team - two guys, Alex and Sergeo - arrived a few minutes earlier than the appointed time, asked if I had any preference as to the sequence of the rooms to be done and then explained what they would be doing during the installation. They went right to work and worked continuously until the job was complete, which was actually in less time than I expected. They were polite and respectful of both me and the house. Part of the trim on one of the window frames had been damaged years ago and they repaired that as an included part of their excellent service - an unexpected plus! When they were done, I was shown how the windows operated and given some "do's and don'ts" to preserve their quality. They did an excellent job installing the windows and when they were gone, there wasn't a speck of debris anywhere - not a nail or scrap of any kind, not even an old paint chip, even though the windows being replaced were in poor condition! The difference in the curb appeal of the house is dramatic - the new windows look great and the rooms are so much warmer (and quieter). We have more windows to replace, but since we had some unsatisfactory work done a couple of years ago by a different company (who has since declared bankruptcy), we were skeptical about putting all our money out at once. The difference between GoldStar Windows and "the other guys" was like night and day. This December, we WILL have GoldStar back at our place to do the rest of the work we need done. That should be recommendation enough - I won't just recommend them to someone else, I'll use them again myself!

Gold Star salesman Ilia came to the house and couldn't have been nicer. he explained how their windows work and why they are so effective at keeping the indoor temperature the way we want it to be.
the installers began on the date promised and finished when promised. we changed one window to a frosted window and called before they started the installation. they said no problem. the frosted window did not arrive. they promised it would be ready the next day (the second day of installation) and it was there. there was no extra charge to us. we received a phone call at the end of the first day to make sure we were happy. at the end of the second (last) day installer Alex showed us how to operate the windows clearly and well. they asked if there was any other questions we had. we are delighted with the windows, the employees and the service.

The installation crew GoldStar arrived on time as promised and worked throughout the day - windows were removed and replaced in a systematic way. There was a point toward the end of the day when we thought they would not finish, but they not only cleared all of the interior, the outside was cleared of debris as well. They returned the next day to complete the finishing touches. We were never out of touch with the crew leader (Ivan), he was very responsive to our concerns.

We received a thoroughly knowledgeable and professional presentation on the GoldStar window products and were impressed with the fact they were manufactured locally exactly to the measurements of our window spaces. We also felt that the windows compared very favorably with the other products we considered from other window companies. Some companies wanted us to come to their showrooms, but Ilia brought products with him to demonstrate. We decided on what we wanted, settled on a fair price and signed a contract that Ilia reviewed with us in detail. We paid a 15% deposit and scheduled installation for about 3-4 weeks out. The price included exterior capping that other companies didn't see as necessary or wanted to charge extra for.
The windows were ready for installation when promised. The installation crew and supervisor were courteous and efficient. They worked methodically and made sure to clean up everything, inside and out. They also took the initiative to touch up and even replace some interior trim that was damaged during the removal and installation process. It took about 1 and 1/4 days to complete the job.
It has been over a month now and with some cold weather, we have noticed there are no more drafts or air leaks. The house is slighly quieter as well. The windows are very solid, attractive and will be easy to clean.
After all the research and multiple estimates with various options we received, we were very pleased with GoldStar and believe we made an excellent decision.

Rain was forecast the scheduled day of installation. The GoldStar kept in touch and sent the crew out a day early, rather than postpone the installation. The Sergeo did a great job, working late and coming out next morning to get the job done before the heavy rain. They were very competent, professional, and courteous.
Energy savings remain to be seen with the first winter heating bill, but I'm optimistic. I rated the quality excellent because everything else was, but I've had the windows for just a few weeks and I have no way of knowing how they will perform long-term, however I believe they are an excellent value for the cost, and the outside noise reduction is noticeable.

Our family house is about 25 years old and our original wood casement windows were worn and rotted and in some cases not functioning any longer. We did a lot of research and received several estimates. My situation also required finding someone who was willing to communicate via phone or email to work out the details of the project as I live in Florida but my parents house is in Oakville Canada. Many other companies did not have the patience. I worked with Ilia Baber who was professional and very patient with all of my questions. If I sent an email with questions, he always returned with a prompt and detailed answer. We had a big job as there were over 30 windows.
