It turned out very well. We were very pleased with GoldStar. The price was good, a bit on the high side of average but excellent considering GoldStar product. GoldStar were very good about scheduling. GoldStar were reliable good about keeping in contact so we knew what was going on. When GoldStar came they were very efficient. GoldStar sealed up rooms and didn’t make a mess. Everything was clean and neat and ready to go when GoldStar were done. GoldStar did a very good job. They were very professional. I would definitely recommend GoldStar to others.

I selected Gold Star Window based on their history and quality of windows. The "at home" demonstration was very complete and conducted by a representative Ilia that was well informed and experienced. The estimating process was a very weak point of the process and required entirely to much negotiating effort to get to the price point that I was wiling to pay. The first quote was over $ 10,000 and the final negotiated price was approximately half that price. The window quaility is superior as was the installation team. The installation team Alex, Serge and Vlad was the best I've seen and I think they left our home cleaner then when they arrived.

Gold Star Company removed and replace 2 windows and 2 exterior doors. installer Vlad checked that everything was the correct size and then set up the work area by covering and protecting my interior spaces as well as the outside areas and plants. they then proceeded to remove the windows, replace them and re-trim them. then they removed 2 exterior doors and replace them. they installed new trim and when they were done the windows and the doors looked awesome with absolutely no evidence they had just been ripped out and replaced!

We chose Gold Star after researching a number of other types of windows and window providers. Sales rep Nick provided well-thought out estimate. Very well organized and able to explain the choices. The installation was done according to schedule, and the crew Alex and Sergeo was very pleasant, efficient, and did a good job in cleaning up when they were done. The guys who did the installation did a terrific job. They did a fast work together. They insulated really well and they changed the whole unit including the framing. I was shocked as they did what they said. They estimated that they would have the windows in six weeks and they had it in six weeks. Then they came and put it on the day they said they would. I was shocked. It's been a little over a year since the windows have been installed, and we have had no problems with them and are very happy with out choice. They really did what they said they would do.

My wife and I bought a house in Richmond Hill this past May (2012). A month and a half into ownership we experienced an intense storm in the Toronto area, featuring high winds and driving rain. We had water coming in every window. Tons of water. It was an absolute disaster. What ensued was 4 months of repair work and an incredible amount of stress. We consulted several different local contractors to have a look at things. None were prompt or straightforward in their answers regarding our problems, and they hinted at huge potential costs but with no real specificity.
I joined HomeStars List and began searching. Gold Star Window not at the top of the list, but they are local and the reviews they did have were enormously positive. When I called Gold Star Window they got back to me immediately. Roman is highly customer focused and professional with a down-to-earth tone and feel to his business. He is definitely a salesman, but never did I feel as though he was trying to play me.
We had SO many problems with our house, it turns out. We had been bamboozled by the previous owners, and the inspection company we employed had failed utterly. We had ALL 19 windows and 2 doors replaced.
Gold Star Window did a great job. They are excellent at what they do, and were completely worthy of our trust. They also take before and after video footage, and create a DVD for you. The prices are definitely competitive. I will say, windows, doors are what they excel at. We are quite happy with our experience. I would not hesitate to recommend Gold Star Window to my friends and family, or anyone who needs this kind of work done.

I am very happy with it. I am very happy with the product. It is very high end. I wish I had spent more time on selecting the color because the energy efficient windows do have some coloring to the glass which affects the pains that show through. The GoldStar office was very good to work with. They were very responsive. Sale rep Ilia had to return a couple of times. The installer Alex that came in was very good. I have no doubt that these will last a long time as they are very high end!

From the beginning, the sales person, Roman was wonderful. As the wife in the household, I had actually had other distributors refuse to speak with me without my husband present, Gold Star company has no such sexism! Roman was a no-pressure salesman who went in-depth about the specifics of his products trying to help me find the best fit for my home. He was readily available by cell phone and e-mail for my questions. I saw him multiple times at my home and at his showroom with questions. When it came time to sign, he carefully went over all the details of the contract and was respectful of my attention to the small-print. When Ivan came to precisely measure my windows and to check for lead, both of us were surprised to find that there was lead paint in the sills. I was going to have to pay extra to have the replacement area secured so that lead dust would not spread throughout the house or the neighborhood. I wanted to protect everyone, so I agreed to this procedure which would cost me another $150 per opening. Sandra was extremely helpful in scheduling our installation. She is an excellent point of communication--knowledgeable and effective in helping the customer. We were scheduled for the Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving. The install team (including Sergio and Alex) arrived early and worked late to install the windows in one day so that I would have an extra day to try to get the house together before my company came for Thanksgiving. They thoroughly cleaned the areas in and around my house. They even wiped down the windows with baby wipes! Roman demonstrated how to open the windows for cleaning. He opened and locked every one of the 24 windows they installed to demonstrate their functionality. They even helped me move large pieces of furniture back in place because my husband had had back surgery and couldn't move them. I greatly appreciated the care they showed to my home and my needs. What I loved about working with Gold Star Company is how they worked with me as an individual, making sure my personal needs were addressed throughout the process!

After move-in in October 2012 we decided to do a whole house replacement of windows and doors. We decided on GoldStar Window because of the options available. We have had GoldStar replace 2/3rds of our windows/doors at this point and are very pleased. There were some rotted joists around a few of our sliding glass doors onto the deck that had improper flashing, this did incur an extra cost - about $300 per door but I'd rather pay that and have it done right - actually Sergio and Alex wouldn't install the doors without fixing it which says something about their standards of quality. I was also happy that this 'glitch' did not delay the install, they were still able to get it all done in the two days they were scheduled to complete the job.
We plan to have them back in a few months for the remaining windows and doors and have no reason to consider anyone else.

Work was planned to be completed in one day. First day, progress to remove/replace windows went OK for a while, although quite a bit of superficial dents and dings occurred on room wall and shutters. The installers Alex and Sergeo encountered a lot of problems trying to re-install the original shutters, since this required sawing off to re-size them to new window frames. Also, had difficulty making shutters closable and hang straight. We contacted Sandra in customer service of GoldStar Window, and together with our service contact (Ilia), arrangements were made for expert craftsmen to come in following day to complete the job properly. These were true professionals, who fixed and repainted all dents, and left the windows and re-hung shutters in perfect shape. This totally changed our overall impression from discouraged to highly pleased. The extra day's effort was totally worth it and was all done within the cost estimate provided...

The Gold Star representative Nick knew his stuff. We were impressed with the product and decided to hire them to replace the windows in out house in two stages. Front and side one year and back and other side the next. In both installs the Gold Star Crew were a pleasure to work with. They arrived on time, took care to protect our home from damage while they were working and left the home clean when the left every night. Each job took about 4 days. Since installing these windows our home looks better. Is more comfortable to live in and our utilities bills are lower. All good. These guys do great work and stand behind it 100%. More recently I needed to match the casings used by my original builder. They are out of biz, but Gold Star had replaced it when they installed. I e-mailed to Nick and he responded back with supplier, item number and contact details. Inside of 12 hrs. Superior windows and service.
