Move from Halifax to Windsor

My family and I just moved from Halifax to Windsor. Everything went well and our big load arrived safe and sound. Atlantic team responded asking me to post this review and I was happy to do this. Fantastic service from the office and the loading crew. The delivery drew arrived a bit late but that was not a problem. We actually had a good time with the delivery crew as one of the men was from my home country.
The price was a bit more than what the quote was, but I know that our tools were sooooo heavy. The guys moved our jukebox and lifted it without a hitch and even brought it to the garage for us without any problems. This one guy was so strong that he lifted it up without even blinking. Couldn't believe my eyes.

Move from Regina to Ottawa

Overall, i have a positive experience. Our contact Anita was responsive and courteous. So, the customer experience was great. In terms of cost, I think it was quite competitive especially during the high season, summer. Overall, good service and I would recommend to other people.

Montreal to Thunder Bay ON

I had a moving company booked for a pick up on July 12 in Montreal. I called the day before to confirm and they cancelled on me. I was panicking and thought that all my plans would just fall through. Then I went back to my emails and saw Atlatic Van Lines quote. Called them up and they were able to accommodate my 3 Bedroom House Move! We had a full truck load and they were able to accommodate it without any question. The crew was very nice and had good knowledge of the work! The truck arrived the following week to Thinder Bay and we were happy to see our stuff!!
Seriously good staff at the delivery! Very very professional! They need to have more advertising to show their good service towards customers that they service!
Very happy with my move and thanks do much to Farah for accommodating my last minute emergency move!

My Move to Montreal!

Good service from this company. Had a move from Edmonton to Montreal in July. Everything went well, personally I had a good experience with them. I know that other people here on the website may not agree with me, but I was really happy. Anita and Artur both gave me personal attention and customer service was great. I expected the cost of the move to be a bit more than the quote because the weight was more, and actually was gladly surprised that it was within budget. Everything was very reasonable in regards to the price of the move. My best point was the great service from the office staff I appreciated that.
Thank you Atlantic Van Lines!!

Moving experience with Atlantic

I had contacted Atlantic Van lines for a move from Scarborough, ON to Ottawa, ON. They offered good rates, and I was happy with the quote. I hired them and then my apartment fell through. I was without a place for a few days, but luckily they offered storage at no extra charges.
The crew was amazing at both pick up and delivery and I actually got the same man at both sides. I was happy because he knew my stuff and was very helpful at both ends.
I got a good service from this company and the price was very reasonable, and on time. No complaints from me and I assured them that I would write a good review, which I am doing now. Good service, and very professional. Love you guys, keep up the good work!

Moving from Toronto to Calgary

Update Sep 18th, 2012: I finally tracked down the owners of the photographs with NO help from the company. I had to go through Windsor Star and the schools the kids attended in Windsor to track the family to Edmonton and finally spoke to the mom this morning. They had used another moving company that subcontracted with Atlantic Van Lines to move their stuff to Edmonton. The mother reported her photographs were missing but NOTHING was done by either moving company. If I hadn't tracked the family down, they would be missing >2000 photographs of their kids that were irreplaceable.

September 13th, 2012
We used Atlantic Van Lines because of their excellent reviews. Not only was our stuff delivered late (4 weeks) but most of what was handled by the professional movers was either damaged or broken. Plus we received somebody else's photographs that have still not been picked up by the company. And there are 10 boxes that are still missing.

To add insult to injury, the GM of the company says that if we file a complaint with the better business bureau; "I assure you that if you file a complaint with the BBB, Atlantic Van Lines will not be able to offer you anything, and the BBB is just a mediator and will not make us pay out anything. You submit a complaint and it is forwarded to us to respond. I assure you that if you do submit a complaint that our response is going to be very simple."

How's that for customer service?

Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Make sure you know what you are getting into before hiring a moving company. Don't believe verbal assurances. Get everything in writing.

moving

company seemed to get good reviews on line. customer service representative was very friendly and attentive to emails/ phone calls until stuff arrived and stuff went missing.

problems: when they arrived to pick up the stuff (toronto), the movers really didn't seem to know what they were doing with respect to tagging items. they had to redo the list 3 or 4 times over, and still missed items and wrote the wrong tag numbers and descriptions on the inventory sheets. very frustrating to work with. also they were about 4 hours late.

when we arrived in vancouver, our stuff arrived about 3 weeks later - much later than the 7-10 days they stated. also, 4 items were missing. they also had moved 2 items from someone?, which weren't ours, but ended up at our new place. when we called in toronto, they said they had about an 8-9% loss rate, which ended up being the case. after all the stuff arrived and they had our money, the customer service went down the drain, and i never heard back from them about my missing stuff despite several emails and phone calls. also, the insurance that they offer really doesn't cover anything.

overall, very disappointed with this company and would never move with them again. we lucked out in that the items lost weren't irreplaceable - and probably still ended up coming out to cheaper than a more expensive company when you factor in the replacement costs for the lost items - but if they lost something that was more priceless or irreplaceable, bad news.

use this company at your own risk.

Move Toronto-Ottawa

Unprofessional! The first item on their list and the reason to pay high moving expenses at all (I had just few things to send to my daughter’s apartment to Ottawa) was the queen mattress. They did not deliver it; when I contacted the driver he said he did not give it to him at all. Apperently they pick up the stuff and bring it to some place for scale and another truck/driver take it from there. I am still trying to get in touch with the owner, they just ignore my calls and emails. If you go with them, read carefully every word on the yellow and the pink sheet. I did not pay much of attention to it as I naively relied on the reviews ……
