Update Sep 18th, 2012: I finally tracked down the owners of the photographs with NO help from the company. I had to go through Windsor Star and the schools the kids attended in Windsor to track the family to Edmonton and finally spoke to the mom this morning. They had used another moving company that subcontracted with Atlantic Van Lines to move their stuff to Edmonton. The mother reported her photographs were missing but NOTHING was done by either moving company. If I hadn't tracked the family down, they would be missing >2000 photographs of their kids that were irreplaceable. September 13th, 2012 We used Atlantic Van Lines because of their excellent reviews. Not only was our stuff delivered late (4 weeks) but most of what was handled by the professional movers was either damaged or broken. Plus we received somebody else's photographs that have still not been picked up by the company. And there are 10 boxes that are still missing. To add insult to injury, the GM of the company says that if we file a complaint with the better business bureau; "I assure you that if you file a complaint with the BBB, Atlantic Van Lines will not be able to offer you anything, and the BBB is just a mediator and will not make us pay out anything. You submit a complaint and it is forwarded to us to respond. I assure you that if you do submit a complaint that our response is going to be very simple." How's that for customer service?

Approximate cost of services:
$3,700.00
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Make sure you know what you are getting into before hiring a moving company. Don't believe verbal assurances. Get everything in writing.
