Custom Closets

I had Rick come in to install custom closets. He was fast and professional, with a great eye for detail. We had difficult walls to work with and enclosed spaces to work in, and he did an amazing job of going with it and did a top notch job. I will definitely hire him again for work in my home.

Drywall replacement

Rick replaced a couple of our walls with soundproofing drywall. A couple of months later, we've hardly heard a sound through them. Rick and Anne were pleasant to work with throughout, stuck to a schedule that mattered to us, and I would highly recommend them.

Thanks for your review. It was very good to work with you, and I am happy that the sound from your neighbour was greatly reduced! It was an interesting, detailed job, as soundproofing, or sound mitigation jobs always are.

Glass Shower Enclosure

The mount in the ceiling for my glass shower enclosure was loose and I couldn't use our main shower as I was afraid the whole enclosure would fall apart. Rick did an excellent job in repairing this. When removing the glass panels he made sure that drop cloths were put down so as not to scratch my floors and walls. He is also very tidy and reasonably priced. I would definitely use him again on future projects!

Repairing bedroom door

I live in a Victorian house in the west end where there is always something needing fixing. We had trouble for years with my sons' bedroom door hinge kept coming out of the frame and falling off mostly because it hadn't been hung properly in the first place. After several people tried to fix it and made it worse the frame had disintegrated and the last time the heavy wood door fell off a big chunk came off of the door too. I had another person tell me the whole frame should be ripped out and replaced and I should buy a new crap hollow door to put in.
Rick on the other hand has huge respect for old houses and is very clever at fixing what is already existing. He managed to just cut out the bad bits of the frame and insert new pieces of wood and even managed to rescue the old door by adding a bit of wood so smoothly that once it is repainted you won't be able to tell. He hung the door very nicely despite all the wonkiness of crooked everything and my sons' are thrilled to have an actual door that swings and closes without falling off! It is good as new, or old should I say? He was very tidy and efficient doing the whole job in 4 hours.
He can be a little hard to get a hold of but it is worth the perseverance.

$280.00

Thank you for not wanting to put in a new hollow core door! This was a job that comes up very infrequently, but is immensely fun to figure out and do.

Bathroom Reno

Rick and Anne took on the job of renovating our bathroom from top to bottom....and WOW! They did an excellent job!

From the floor tile to the crown molding to the perfect tub install to the perfectly aligned large tiles around the tub to the heated floor....Rick your attention to detail is amazing. Everything is done to perfection. A special thanks for seeing us through all the surprises that come with tearing apart a 100 year old room. Your calm and positive demeanour saw us through right to the end. And a special thank you for the custom shelf/niche you built to make use of a dead space in the room.
Thank you, thanks you, thank you!

Odd jobs - fixed window, installed security bars and hung coat hooks

We are so lucky to have happened upon Rick and Anne! After moving into our first home, we had some little jobs that were just beyond us without the right tools or knowledge, they came for a visit and gave us so much great advice about the jobs but mostly about our home in general, they really know their stuff and are so lovely.
We asked them to hang some heavy hooks that needed to go into the studs, source and install security bars in our basement and install a new crank on a window in our bedroom. Rick came when we were at work and let himself in and we were completely comfortable with this after having met them (bonus, he was great with our dog!). He fixed everything quickly and efficiently and we are so happy with the quality of his work. Overall, just a pleasure to work with and great quality. Highly recommend!

Framing, dry wall, painting

Rick and Anne are amazing! They have become our go-to people for our home renovations. They are friendly, professional, hard-working and honest. They did some work on our house while we were on vacation. Everything looked great and we couldn't even tell they had been here. Rick and Anne are also going to be doing some work on our basement (levelling the ceiling, framing, dry wall etc). They gave us a very detailed and reasonable quote. They are very easy to talk to and are always willing to patiently answer our many questions. We would highly recommend their services to other home owners :)

Crown Moulding and Paint

I have used Rick and Anne's services quite a few times over the last couple years and they have never let me down. This last project was painting the complete interior of our new home and installing crown moulding. Their work was flawless and the house looks great. They are always on time and are a lot of fun to be around and I trust them in my home alone without any reservations. They are the best! My only reservation about posting this review is I don't want them to become so busy that I won't be able to get them for myself! I have a few more projects for them.

$5,000.00

Bathroom Vanity Install x3 (IKEA)

Our house had cheap builder basic vanities and taps in all the bathrooms and they were all developing problems either in the plumbing or in the vanity portion. I wanted the ikea godmorgon vanities and IKEA tops/taps, but I doubted my ability to find the time to do the work x3 bathrooms, let alone my competence. Rick and Anne came out to give a quote and I was very impressed with their professionalism (punctual, well informed, etc). Rick sent me a very complete quote. I told them i wasn't concerned about the timing of the work, or even it was all done at the same time. In fact, they got the work all done (removal, assembly and install) whilst I was on vacation. I was happy to have them in my house while i wasn't there. I got regular updates about the work - and my lonely cat was thrilled too. All of the work was impeccably done. The cleanup left my house cleaner than it was before. The bathrooms are much improved - in both function and appearance. They even rehung a mirror that was not stable. I can't recommend Rick and Anne enough. They are warm and personable and they are experienced experts. I am saving up to get more things done! (Anyone who loves those IKEA bathroom components might already know that it isn't easy to find people willing to do the assembly and install. IKEA can't help with this. I was happy this very experienced team was willing to take that on). Highly recommended. Not a single concern.

Thank you for the chance to work on your project, Sonia. We appreciate your flexibility in timing, originally being open to doing one at a time; it just happened to work out that we could do all three in one go! We look forward to helping you out with more projects in the future.
