We had our basement finished this summer when we moved into our new home. We were not sure where to find good contractors and after much searching, we found Sandy and Zack at the Aurora Home Show at the very last minute. With very little notice, they came all the way up to Bradford to give us our quote and create a plan for our new basement. Compared to the other quotes we got, they were the most reasonably priced. Also, Sandy worked very hard with us to stick to our very tight budget!
The work began the very day we moved into our home and they were on time and ready to start. The entire project went smoothly, and everything fell into place perfectly. The foreman Nick was wonderful! He was on sight most days and did much of the work himself. Although we had hoped Sandy and/or Zack would be on sight more often, we understood later that it was because Nick had everything under control. Although I must say that any time we needed to speak to Sandy or Zack they always answered our calls or called us and texted us back immediately.
The quality of the work was wonderful! Anything that we asked them to fix, touch up or change, they made sure that they did. They never tried to pressure us to add more to the job or upgrade to things that were out of our budget. I really felt that they respected what we wanted to spend. Despite being on a strict budget, the spending allowance we were given for things like tiles, carpet, cabinetry etc. was more than enough to give us a wide variety of high quality selcetions.
Each of the tradesmen that came (ie. plumber, electrician) were so friendly, easy to work with and good at their trade. They each showed up exactly when they were supposed to and did a great job. They explained everything they were doing clearly and involved us in the entire process. Everyone was even so wonderful with our black lab who is hyper and always wanted to watch what they were doing. They made sure they didn't let him get out of the house and took good care of him when I wasn't home. They even let him spend time with them in the basement and watch them work.
Most importantly, our basement was finished exactly when they promised it would be. Although it was a close call and went right to the very last day we needed it done by, they did it and we are so happy with the end result!!! Our kids now have a functional playroom, we have a beautiful bathroom and laundry room and we even gained some more storage space. Our space is perfect for what we needed.
