I was so pleased with the whole process and definitely noticed that everyone pulled their weight and kept on top of things. Jeffrey was very professional and a perfectionist – something you really want when it comes to designing your ideal space. Gordana was amazing – she is such a pleasure to work with. She was relatable, allowing me to let loose and feel completely comfortable around her. She simplified the whole process which took a huge weight off my shoulders. While there were certain things I had difficulty envisioning, I trusted Jeffrey and his team and was thrilled with the end result. I absolutely adore my house. I have to pinch myself because it truly is my palace. I definitely chose the right people. I couldn’t have done it without DDS!

10 years in a subdivision home which we felt was definitely at the better end of subdivision homes, well laid out rooms and a beautiful corner lot near Boyd conservation area. With business in infancy and the other getting busier, there ended up being less money to spend on furniture. we had just gotten married and put most of the money 'incorrectly' into just the house with nothing left to decorate. 10 years with pretty much empty rooms, lame colours and in 2006 we were finally ready to finish the basement and do something in the kitchen. It quickly become a full out three storey-move out for 12 month project. And worth every -single-penny and all the time it took. It's now our mecca for entertaining but mostly for having family and friends over anytime they want. Jeffrey and his team were simply unbelievably. I used to poo poo the 'd' word - i.e. 'designer'. I heard nightmares... everything from cost - to how they fought with the contractors etc.. But it was anything BUT that. Jeffrey accomodated US and met us every two weeks at 7:00 a.m. and so began the 6 month 'drawings' and story of our 'soon' to be new 'home'. he turned it into a true 'home'. He seemed to know perfectly what my husband and I might not agree on and somehow found the perfect answer. He knew where to help us save money and where to spend it for our lifestyle in the home. He created an extra 500 sq. ft. in the house! He helped choose contractors and the most ironic part... the kitchen manufacturer indicated that jeff's drawings were so close to his shopping drawings he had little left to do. The main general contractor worked right in sync with Jeff - it was amazing how smoothly it went. Jeff paid such close to attention and even came again much later into the project to help over a small dispute on a budget item. It got solved in a matter of an hour. He has a genuine respect for the contractor and vice versa. They don't view him as just a 'designer'... nor did we. a.-he's become a friend as his his whole staff who treat us likey family and b.-he's not just a designer.. he's a 'creator'... he has vision 'for' you through your eyes and makes it reality. His entire team is right there with him. if he's busy - it's only because he has the right people with him and he won't settle for less. They are incredibly attentive and follow his incredible vision. We can't wait to finish our one spare room upstairs. We feel like we're in a magazine and we still have that 'awesome' feeling every time we enjoy every room in our home. theatre nights in our basement ar our favourites and trust us, it's a tiny basement but Jeff made it seem like a theatre. His referrals of auxiliary trades/landscapers /artwork galleries... it's equally as visionary as his own and helped the overall picture come together in a way we couldn't have imagined. he created a 'home' not a museum piece and the 'comfort' we wanted, never to be bored! He's a gentleman and genuinely down to earth person who clearly is passionate about what he does. Jeffrey - you are the 'only' designer anyone should have create their home with! George and Cathy

Working with Jeffrey was a wonderful experience. His ability to create the most intricate architectural details really sets him apart. His ideas for cove lighting, crown mouldings and integrating bulkheads were impressive to say the least. Apart from his technical skill, he was excellent to work with. Personality is obviously very important when selecting the right designer and Jeffrey made the process fun and enjoyable. I would definitely work with him again and recommend him to anyone looking for a designer.

We worked with Jeffrey on our extensive home renovation. There's no denying that Jeffrey has a great eye for elegant design, but as anyone who's done a renovation can tell you, there's a lot more to it than that - especially form the client's perspective. Jeffrey managed (somehow) to shepherd a sometimes contradictory or even divergent set of wants into one homogenous design. He's a very good listener and has a knack for knowing when to re-direct a client and when to follow a lead. All the while ensuring that the end design result works well as a whole. It makes for a very relaxed, fun and productive working relationship - one in which you feel free to express your opinion, while knowing that Jeffrey would never let you go wrong. I highly recommend Douglas Design and would happily work with them again.

DDS is a thoroughly professional company. This was a new home build and we spent over a year working very closely with the entire DDS. The experience was completely enjoyable and the end result exceeded all of our expectations. There is nothing different we would have done. Jeffrey Douglas himself is very involved personally in all aspects of the project and he has a very competent support team. Logisitically DDS makes it very easy for the customer as they handle all invoices/deliveries etc. Jeffrey is capable of handling any type of decor be it traditional, modern etc. He has a huge portfolio of ideas to choose from. DDS worked extremely well with our architect and builder to keep the project on time and under budget.
I can not recommend DDS any more highly.

In 2006, my wife and I embarked on what many describe as one of life's most stressful processes - a full home renovation. Very early in the process, we were blessed to have been recommended Jeffrey Douglas as someone who we should speak to as a potential designer to assist us. Hiring Jeffrey was one of the best decisions that we made.

From the moment he became part of our team, he truly made our project his project. No detail was overlooked or was too small to attract his attention. His creativity and talents were truly humbling. Our home turned out exactly as we wanted it to and, in some cases, Jeffrey helped guide us in certain directions that we perhaps may not have gone but which we are now thrilled that we did.

Jeffrey also showed absolute respect for our budget and our desire to stay within it. We never felt hesitant to tell Jeffrey that, although an idea sounded great, we simply couldn't fit it into our budget. In those cases, Jeffrey worked with us to find ways to achieve his idea without breaking our budget.

One talent of Jeffrey's that truly sets him apart is his ability to stand in your space, explain a concept for a room and then pull out a pencil and draw the room so that you can see exactly how the room will look when it is done. It is as though he looks into the future, takes a picture in his mind and then presents it to you. It is an incredibly helfpful way to make decisions.

While our project ended in 2007, we have continued our relationship with Jeffrey. He has helped us furnish two rooms and we will soon be starting a third with him. We simply wouldn't do it without him.

Jeffrey has even offered us guidance and help in making art choices. Just this summer, while traveling in Europe, my wife and I saw a sculpture that we liked very much. We sent a picture to Jeffrey from the gallery and received an almost immediate response with comments and suggestions for our purchase.
