Dear Sir, please no offense, would you mind I explain for the misunderstanding?
I got a phone call Friday morning for flat roof skylight leak repair. I told him I was at work in North York, if he could text me the address, if I finished early, I would drop by to take a look at the end of the day around 5pm.
I arrived at the property and texted to the phone which called me also texted the address to me: 'hello there, are you home?' no answer. I felt people inside, so I knocked the door, the owner came out. 'Hi, what happened to the shingle at the corner?' I asked the owner. He said ‘There are two issues: the skylight leaking; and the storm damage of the shingles at the corner. You supposed come at 5pm' the owner said. 'I texted and called you around 5pm, you didn't answer the phone, so I went to purchase some material for tomorrow' I said. 'you didn't call me, you called the builder' the owner said. 'the builder?' I thought. The owner was going to leave home by now. So, by my instinct, I felt a bit complicated and also lack of effective communication. Standing there, looking up the high standing building and steep roof(the flat roof surrounded by steep shingle roof), my legs began to feel soft after a long day's work. I didn't feel safe. So I decided not going up and left for self-protection.
By the way, didn't ask for $800.
