We recently discovered the scourge of a wet basement floor and engaged Stephen and his team to help deal with the issue. They responded quickly and efficiently to the issue and it has now been resolved. The team arrived and left on-time and on budget. Great to work with. We'd recommend them most highly!

About two months ago we brought in a company to do a mould assessment after noticing increasingly strong mildew type odors in the lower level of the house. The report recommended mould remediation. The company that we contracted to do the remediation discovered (to our horror) that we had six inches of water sitting in the crawl space under the front quarter of our house! We proceeded to research and interview several reputable water proofing companies . To our great relief we met with Stephen Ksiazek owner of The Waterproofer.ca who returned our call within a day. He spent an hour and a half going through what needed to be done to solve this “major” water issue. The job required digging up the whole side of our house to a depth of ten (10) ft to repair, waterproof and install weeping tile to the existing original wall as well as removing the floor in the storage room on the inside of the house to access the crawl space where the water was sitting. They then had to remove the standing water, jack hammer out the cement to install a sump pump, as well as cut out additional cement runs to install additional weeping tile to take away any water that was flowing under the house as we were now below the water table. All of this material had to be removed and carried out of the basement one bucket at a time! Stephen went out of his way to get his top crew on what he described as a “particularly tough job” and to get them started almost immediately. The crew was polite (exceptionally so), extremely hard working and overly considerate of working in our house. The crew installed protective covering on all the exposed floors and stairs , connected a negative air machine to exhaust the dust out of the house and sealed all the working areas in the house. The site was always cleaned at the end of the day and when the project was completed they replanted and staked the twelve (12) ft hedge that had to be removed between our house and our neighbors, they also power washed our driveway and upon leaving you would never know they had been there! We highly recommend Stephen’s company and his crews.

Was very happy to work with Stephen and his team. They waterproofed the exterior of our semi-detached house and then had to do some interior waterproofing when a large boulder was discovered. Had previous waterproofing work done by someone else, but not properly. Stephen put us immediately at ease that he knew what he was doing and doing it properly. Enjoyed working with him and he always showed up when he said he would. My only issue with Stephen was his follow-up. It often took a number of times trying to contact him before I got a response. That being said, Stephen has followed up with me and apologized for the difficulties I've experienced. I am confident outstanding issues will be dealt with. I definitely recommend The Waterproofer - they do very good work and are professional about it. They can use some improvement on their follow-up, though, in my experience.

My basement got flood in heavy rain. we call the company and quickly got Steve on site. Steve checked my basement with infra camera. he found the basement was leak on couple small crack, overall was in good shape. he was very honest and advised me to pick interior sealing. since his business was on exteriors and he introduce another company for this work. his advise saved my beautiful landscape since the exterior was more cost and definitely destroy my garden. I really thank Steve, he provided such honest advise and charge for $0 dollar.
I definitely endorse this company and his honest and great service.

Stephen and TheWaterproofer.ca team did a terrific job of waterproofing our Leslieville basement. The higher than average rainfall and flash thaw we experienced this past March revealed a hidden problem in the foundation of our new home. “Honey…did you know the house came with a water feature in the basement?” Stephen visited and took some infra-red pictures of the interior to show us where water infiltration could potentially cause mould to develop. He was not in the least bit pushy, or a hard-seller. He let his professionalism and attention to detail speak for itself. The crew of Ivan, Paul and Peter arrived promptly at 7:00 AM every day, and worked tirelessly to get the job done quickly. They advised us of every step in the progress and what to expect next. Each day they left the site secure, and as clean as possible under the circumstances. Besides all that, they were just genuinely nice guys. I had other estimates but Stephen’s estimate was lower than expected for more work than I anticipated. Thanks to Stephen, Ivan, Paul, and Peter for our safe dry basement. They will be hearing from our friends in need of this service.

Regrets in republishing this review. It seems a problem that arose after our waterproofing had been done was in fact caused by a previous owner connecting a bathroom to the storm drain. This caused a block in the drain exiting the property, so caused a back up that would not allow the storm water to leave the property. As it turns out, we may not have required the waterproofing at all, but are not all disappointed that we had Stephen and his crew in.

As new homeowners, we were horrified to see water seeping into our basement a couple of weeks after moving in, at the first heavy rainfall. We called our realtor, and she quickly recommended a trusted company: The WaterProofers. We called Stephen, and even though he was extremely busy (I guess the rain flooded a few basements that day), he made time to come by, and examine the damage with his high-end infra-red camera, and to offer both guidance, and reassurance. Under his advice, we contacted a mold specialist, and Stephen and his crew coordinated the repair work with the mold removal crew, and kept us informed at all stages of the project. The crew that worked on our house was very thorough in finding all possible sources of water infiltration, and they solved them all, in addition to improving the water-resistance of the rest of the basement by properly separating the walls and floors from the external concrete, allowing for water to flow without contaminating the internal building materials. When they were done fixing the foundation cracks, they were kind enough to rebuild our deck, and left the work site very clean. All the work was done as per the estimates, and completed within the time frame provided. There have since been many heavy rains, and I am happy to report that our entire basement has remained dry.

We hope to never need another water proofer, but if we do, we're calling Stephen and his crew at the WaterProofers again.

I am very happy with the work the Waterproofer did. Everyone was extremely professional, friendly and respectful. They did the whole job quickly and left things looking better than when they arrived. Stephen was extremely helpful and explained what was going on in my basement very clearly - no gimmicks or sales pitches. I really appreciate their work and I will be asking them to finish waterproofing the remaining 2 walls of my house as soon as I can.

Given tonight's epic rain storm in Toronto, it seems like a good time to write this review. We bought a century old home near Little India/Beaches. The foundation below grade was crumbling. I had the north wall done by Stephen in 2011. Fixed the problem, but he said he expected to be back for the rest as the house had little to no barrier from the flow of below grade water. Sure enough, he was right. He was back in a year to do the west and south sides of my house (east side has an addition on top of grade, so it is fine). Came home tonight, fearing the worst. Basement is dry. No water. No mold. Eaves are overflowing but the water is not getting into my basement. And this is the Beaches! Stephen is a wizard.

Very Satisfied! The Waterproofer completed exterior waterproofing last fall and has completely stopped any moisture from entering our basement through this past winter and spring. During the project, which was on schedule and on budget, Stephen's team waterproofed 3 sides of our semi-detached house in Davisville Village. They took care of working around the front porch, back deck, and air conditioner. After a successfull 8 months of being dry, we proceeded with basement renovations just recently. Stephen's team was a necessary first step to our basement renovations. Stephen is extremely responsive to email, even months after project completion when I had a question of a general nature.
