Bathroom renovation

I highly recommend Tony Ryabokon and his team (Daniel and the two tile installers) at Bath Solutions in Etobicoke. They did a beautiful and professional job of fully renovating the bathroom in my condo, which included installing a large border of very finicky glass mosaic tile. (The tile work is meticulous.) The job was done on schedule and on budget - but they did not rush the project and consulted me on all aspects of the installation, offering suggestions as needed (which I'm glad that I took). As for customer service, Tony and the crew were punctual, respectful of the neighbours, and cleaned up every day. It's been a month and a half since the renovation, and I am really pleased with the results.

Bath Renovation

I was very pleased with the work of Bath Solutions in Mississauga. Guytano and his team did an excellent job. The main work item was a bathroom renovation in my sons' bathroom. They removed the tub and replaced it with a shower pan with a built-in seat, new vinyl textured walls, glass shower doors, grip handles and new hardware. We also replaced the sink and hardware. The workers were punctual, were careful not to be messy and completed the job very efficiently. The final result exceeded my expectations. Other work included some minor upgrades in other bathrooms. I would highly recommend Bath Solutions to my family and friends.

Bathroom Renovation

While this rating is long overdue, I actually have recommended Bathroom Solutions to my neighbours and friends. We had our entire bathroom renovated in May 2014; totally gutted with a new bath, shower, faucets, cabinets, toilet, floor and baseboards. Guy was very consultative, assisting us with our design and colour, Damien and Harry were extremely efficient during the renovation. Total down time was 2 days and a beautiful new bathroom was created. Six months later we are having issues with a couple of our floor tiles and grout and Guy is not hesitating to resolve and correct. That is putting the customer first.

Bathroom Renovation

I found Bath Solutions by searching online and after doing some background checks (e.g. BBB), I called Bathroom Solutions Lakeshore to set up a meeting for a quote. I had a “good feeling” when I met Tony. He was professional and appeared to be very knowledgeable about the work required. He sat patiently as we worked through the details for the quote, choosing fixtures, cabinets, and colours. I was very satisfied with the bathroom renovation completed by Tony and his “sidekick” Daniel. Friends and family who have seen my new bathroom have commented on the quality of the work done. Tony is a man of his word. The price on the initial quote did not change, project timelines were met (e.g. work was completed within the two-week timeframe that was promised), and any issues (e.g. linen cabinet doors not aligning) were promptly addressed and resolved. I can rest easy, knowing that Tony does not walk away from a job when it is completed. He stands behind his work. For these reasons, I would not hesitate to recommend Tony (Bath Solutions Lakeshore) for bathroom renovations.

Complete Bathroom renovation

First off, I need to apologize to Tony and his crew for not posting this review sooner (as I had promised).

My wife and I currently own a 100 year old home that has only had 2 prior owners to us and minimal to no updates since the house was constructed.

In May 2014 our toilet had begun to leak to the point where it was causing damage to the sub floor of the bathroom, only being protected by a single roll of vinyl flooring. We decided it was time to update the entire bathroom.

Tony’s quote was very comparable to the other quotes we had received (and one of the lower quotes for identical work), but was the ONLY quote that itemized the work and supplies required, and he made it very clear that at any time, if we needed to adjust the quote, or if we had picked up supplies on our own, he would simply subtract them from the quote. Having recently lost a good chunk of income, this was a valuable option to have and a small part of the reason why we chose Tony.

When I first met Tony, he was very organized, easy to deal with and very understanding of the vision my wife and I had for the bathroom. He was also on time, which is surprisingly rare I’ve found.

We only have 1 bathroom and Tony understood the need to keep the project on time and even made the extra effort to complete the replacement of the toilet, so we could go back to a somewhat normal life while the rest of the project was completed.

In regards to the quality of the work, we have no complaints. Each day, Daniel would lay out mats to protect the floors and stairs and cleaned up each evening before leaving. The work was completed according to the time table Tony had set out, and looks and operates fantastically.

Alex has done an excellent job with the tile work as well, both on the floor and up the walls. It should also be noted that Between Tony and Alex, they we’re also able to include a small nook in the wall, fully tiled, by the bathtub for more storage, which was something we had not considered prior and now consider irreplaceable.

We also had a cast iron claw foot tub that we wanted to keep, and Tony found a way to keep the tub, and keep the new style in line with the classic look of the tub (as well as expanding the doorway to the bathroom so the tub could actually be removed). Given the price of a cast iron tub these days, this was a key part of the renovation.

There were a couple of challenges during the reno that were discovered, but Tony contacted me immediately with solutions and let me decide on the action I wanted to take.

I would also like to speak to Tony’s work ethic (and his team). They had the utmost respect for myself, my home, and my family. My neighbor had inquired about getting a quote from Tony one day while they were working and Tony politely told him that he would prefer to discuss it when he wasn’t actively working on our project. I was very impressed when my neighbor told me this and very happy to know that once we started, Tony and his team made us their priority.

Our bathroom is now the nicest room in the house!

I would 100% recommend Bath Solutions, specifically Tony and his team, and once we are ready to add a laundry room and water closet to the basement, I do not see any need to obtain multiple quotes, based on my experiences.

Summary :
Punctual, and easy to get a hold of.
Detailed, itemized quote (labour and materials).
Quality work, follows directions from customers.
Clean work area during and at end of day.
Patient with customers, and able to answer questions directly.
Wife approved.

Thanks again gentlemen!

Bathroom renovations

Our existing main bath & powder room were over 25 years old & needed a major refresh. After looking at on-line reviews for contractors, we contacted Guy at Bath Solutions & settled on a plan for re-doing both rooms. For the main bath we removed the bathtub, replacing it with a shower in the same space with ceramic tiles, replaced the vanity, toilet, taps & shower, & installed ceramic flooring. For the powder room, we replaced the toilet, vanity & installed ceramic flooring. Both rooms were re-painted. The main bath required quite a bit of demolition & re-plastering, while the powder room was more straight forward. We settled on a price estimate & startup date for late November, with Guy estimating that the work would take one week. We supplied the vanities, taps & shower tile.

Overall, the job went pretty much as planned, with the 'normal' types of challenges when doing major reno's in a 50 year old home. Damien & Harry showed up on the scheduled start date & were conscientious in their work & pretty good about cleaning up every day. Due to some minor changes to our plan when issues came up during the demo, the job took 1½ weeks - understandable in the circumstances.

The final cost was very close to the estimate & the quality of work appears to be quite good. Things that could have been handled better include more attention to detail in the painting (we had the painter back for touch ups & then still had some to do ourselves), & more attention paid to keeping the floor tiles clean once they were laid (we are still cleaning some spots which have some glue/silicone).

Overall, we are very happy with our updated rooms, and consider that we got good value for what we had done. Guy was attentive to our needs throughout the process, & his team were good workers who were very pleasant to deal with.

Acrylic shower installation

We had installed Acrylic Shower in our Master bathroom on Month of April, 2014 by Guy of Bath Solution. Guy is a nice contractor. But I am not satisfied 100% with the workman ship, done by his people. The caulking has no finishing, it's not smooth so catch dirt very easily and hard to clean. As the job is so expensive, I am disappointed. We had tiles on our shower, which was fine but dirty by my previous owner, so I wanted to replace that. I had contacted couple of contractors, they were ready to replace the floor tile, but Guy said, he doesn't do that small job, so he will change the all tiles including the walls and he had recommended to do the acrylic, we had agreed in spite of the high cost. But unfortunately, not happy with the finishing. I think the people who came for work were impatient.

Bathroom makeover

Our bathroom had the original tiles which were cracked, worn and hard to clean. Bath Solutions provided us with the perfect solution to cover these tiles. Their work was done in a timely manner and Tony's team were extremely efficient and professional. The transformation is amazing. We would recommend Bath Solutions to anyone who is in need of a similar fix.

Bath and shower area renovation

Our bath tub is very old and looked it and the tiling in the shower area was leaking water downstairs into our kitchen.
They re-glazed the tub and it looks brand new. The walls were covered with a white shiny material which modernizes bathroom. Work done quickly and very tidy.

Bathroom reno

In short, I would never recommend this company to anyone for any project. I can’t go over every complaint because it would be too boring and tedious to read.
In a nutshell, what should have taken 3 weeks took 3 months from start to finish. From the get-go, we received only just enough contact once our deposit cheque was received to make me think he hadn’t completely run away with our money.

The project was to redo a small, simple bathroom, with no layout changes to complicate things. I was assured several times that it would be completed in 3 weeks, just in time for our moving date. That date came and went and we still had nothing but a demo’ed shell with a bit of plumbing roughed in.

So we paid another month of rent and pushed the deadline by another 3 weeks. Tradesmen finally started arriving just 2 days before our second moving date, which made things ridiculously over-crowded and stressful on the actual move-in day.

For 2 weeks we lived in our new house, with our toddler, with a building site for a bathroom. We shared with our basement tenants, which was less than ideal having 4 adults and a child sharing a closet-sized bathroom. Bathing a 2 year old who does NOT enjoy showers is a tricky undertaking.

What I learned from this experience: If a contractor insists on supplying everything, from tiles to fixtures to the vanity, because he says he can be held accountable for the quality, this is just fancy contractor speak for marking everything up so he makes a profit. Because we allowed this arrangement, we waited for almost everything to arrive in his warehouse before the project could begin. And nothing arrived in an even remotely timely fashion. The fact that we waited over 2 months for the tub to arrive seems suspicious to me. I could have gone to Home Depot myself.

Our project manager was almost always unreachable until I demanded daily updates. Even then it wasn’t always easy. The only reason I have a completed bathroom is because of the amazing woman in the office. She gets the one star I am giving this contractor.
