Land Effects re-did our whole backyard.We were not only impressed with their level of professionalism but also the fact that they came when they said they would, and charged us what they said they would, which is unfortunately an exception to the rule these days with contractors.
We are very happy with the results and were very impressed with the speed at which the work progressed. In fact, we continually get compliments from our neighbours and guests when they see the backyard.
We are thinking of landscaping our front yard this year,and when we decide to go ahead,Keith and his team at Land Effects will be the only option for us.

I contacted Keith of Land Effects Outdoor Living Spaces Ltd., on A Sunday afternoon. Unbelievably, he answered his phone and agreed to meet with me the following day!

Keith met with me exactly when agreed upon. After discussing several project options, we agreed upon a project plan. The construction began 3 day after our initial meeting and was completed quickly and beyond my satisfaction!

Kieth and his workers at Land Effects Outdoor Living Space are fantastic! Kieth came to my house as soon as I called for a quote (within the hour). He had some great ideas and was able to work within our budget (where other companies couldn't bother). Their work is clean, professional and extremely well executed. I was also impressed with how quickly they got the job done. (Working in the cold, rainy fall weather too.) We recently completed the construction phase of this project and will finalize the planting phase next spring. The project scope included the following elements:

1. Design consultation and plan development
2. Completion of front yard walkway and garden beds
3. Completion of porch steps and railings

When I made my first contact to another highly rated Homestars company for my landscaping project, I was disappointed that the fellow came to look at the project, said that he would get back to me with an estimate within the week -- and then I never heard from him again. Over 6 weeks later, no estimate and not even a phone call to let me know that they did not want the job.

In the meanwhile, somewhat miffed with this last experience, we contacted Keith from Land Effects. And frankly, I must sincerely thank the first company because if it wasn't for them I would never have had the good fortune to meet Keith.

He listened carefully to my needs, was very knowledgeable and had wonderful creative design ideas. We needed a retaining wall, but I also wanted a little garden oasis. You can see from the pictures before and after how gorgeous this space is now, my gosh the transformation is amazing. And they are so versatile too - doing everything - from a gate, a fence, original lattice, a retaining wall, creative interlocking, natural stone steps to selecting and planting trees. We needed it all and they did it all!

His team worked diligently and efficiently, right on schedule and right on budget too. Keith was very responsive to my needs, returning phone calls promptly, and keeping me posted every step of the way with e-mails and phone calls.

It's been almost 5 years since Land Effects transformed our front from a boring, unimaginative yard to a beautiful garden with rockery, flowers, shrubs and a beloved Japanese Maple tree. Our house now has curb appeal! To this day, we still get compliments on our front. Keith was a pleasure to work with and there were no unexpected "surprises". The crew showed up when they were supposed to and cleaned up at the end of the day. The end result is what we wanted and love!

In 2005 we contacted three landscape companies to upgrade our back yard. Two provided plans, Keith gave us a vision!! He and his crew worked diligently and professionally over three summer sessions to transform our yard and garden into neighbourhood highlights. They constructed stonework areas, entry gate, fences, waterfall and deck. The gardens were reshaped and enlarged with a wonderful combination of plantings that provide us with interesting colours all summer long. His contacts with suppliers etc, permitted us choices of lighting schemes and large rock specimens. The front porch and entry were completely redesigned and covered with attractive, inviting sandstone blocks. Since the beginning of construction we have been approached by neighbours and strollers for information about the work. Several individuals have requested permission to photograph the gardens. A stroll through the neighbourhood will demonstrate Keith's influence on a number of small projects carried on since our completion date. I think the most telling recommendation I can provide is the story of our neighbours who put up their house for sale through the MLS service.
The picture on their web display was the view from their kitchen window of OUR back yard. In every sense, I have complete confidence in recommending Landeffects to anyone looking for high quality landscape services.

Our church hired Land Effects for snow removal and landscaping upkeep services last year. Their fee was lower than that of our previous company but their service has been significantly better. Snow was removed in a very timely manner and the grounds of our church this spring and summer have never looked better. Especially appreciated, though, was the prompt removal of a sizable tree branch that had fallen during a windstorm. We didn't even have to phone! We look forward to our continued association with Keith and Land Effects.

Keith is an honest and ethical contractor. He worked hard to try to get the City of Toronto to agree to a repair to a crumbling retaining wall that would have minimal impact to a century old tree on the property. When the repair I anticipated proved impractical, he explained my options clearly to me and suggested alternatives that involved me doing a different kind of repair myself. He even offered to give me advice on how to go about doing this repair since I am not exactly handy. I am not even sure that he would have taken any money for the time and effort he had spent if I hadn't offered to pay him. Keith is exactly the sort of person you want to consult with. He knows his business, he communicates frequently and clearly about what is going on, he cares about the quality of the job he is doing and he listens to his clients. I recommend him highly.
