Balance Building Group

Building a home was our biggest project and we knew finding a good builder would be a critical factor for a happy ending. We started to search for a builder in February, 2013, prior to finding our lot to build the house on. We were after a builder who would keep us very involved in the process, but at the same time manage the project and the trades for us. We called and interviewed many builders, finally settling on the Balance Building Group in December, 2013.

We are happy to have selected Balance Building Group to be our builder, and it was pleasant working with Mauro and his team. We appreciate Mauro's knowledge, experience, guidance, patience, great advice and attention to the myriad of details. We really felt Mauro built our home just like he would have built his own house. He really cares, and tries at every step to save money for us and make sure we receive value for money.

He introduced us to many suppliers/trades that he trusted and felt comfortable using, but at the same time did not restrict us to just those ones. He encouraged me to pick the tiles from the stores I found on my own, and negotiated a great ‘builder discount’ price for us. He also allowed me to use a kitchen cabinet company I found at the Home Show, but only after he did a site visit and checked out the company’s quality himself. He is very easy to communicate with and replies to our phone calls/emails mostly within the same day.

After we moved into our newly built house, we received many compliments from friends, family, even strangers that stopped to talk to us in our front yard. While the builder’s sign was still in the front yard, there were countless times that people stopped, looked at the house and recorded Mauro’s contact information.

Despite some challenges, we are satisfied with the end result. Many thanks to the Balance Building Group!

Mauro and his team tore down the old house on the property and re built a brand new home in the 10 months as he had promised. It is a full 2 level home and finished basement. It is excellent. Our agreement was that I wanted him to use specific contractors for certain areas and he was willing to do that with me. I was very confident throughout the process. The quality is excellent and I have been living here for 14 months. There were a few minor issues, of course, but they were taken care of immediately. I would use him again and recommend him to anyone.

Mauro and his crew totally gutted my 3 storey home and basement. They did a complete redesign of the floor plan and finished it in the promised amount of time. It took the 9 months as promised and they did a wonderful job. Working with Mauro and his team was fabulous. I am so glad my friend recommended him. I have heard horror stories from other people who have had work done in their homes. He is honest and offers good workmanship. The estimate and final cost were dead on. I highly recommend him, and would use him again if I had a project.

We needed a porch added to our home. Through a recommendation of a neighbor we call Balance Building. We are very please with the finished job. He gave an estimate and sure enough that was the final cost as well. No surprise at the end. They cleaned up after themselves each day they worked.

It was a true pleasure doing business with them, very clean, very professional, they did it all. Both my Wife and I are considering doing some more renovations and will use Balance Building Group. Our master bathroom renovation was featured on the cover of a Custom Home Builder and Renovations magazine.

Very satisfied with the quality of workmanship. Very friendly and customer service oriented! Paid close attention to detail, was on budget and on time! He made recommendations and we are now enjoying his recommendations. Work was building code and Tarion approved. It was our first time having to do any type of construction work, let alone building a home from scratch. We hired Mauro and his company as the contractor. What can I say; it was the best experience ever. Besides the little hiccup of the City of Toronto going on strike, everything was done on time. We went slightly over budget, which was expected and budgeted for, if you change your mind and want something nicer, you are going to have to pay for it. All trades that were hired were professional, clean and they completed the work on time. As of today’s date both homes are in excellent condition and there have been minimal repairs that needed to be done. Mauro was very honest and acted in a professional manner. He gave us some great recommendations to help cut costs which were beneficial to us and he was easily accessible at all times. Looking forward to working with him on our next project.

Happy with the quality of workmanship and precise detail throughout the entire project. The complete construction team was polite,neat and professional manner. The after service was minimal, action was effective and prompt.
