Indoor water leak damage

Storm water leak caused drywall damage also affecting gas fireplace. Don and Steve checked it, sourced the leak outside. Work involved removal of drywall to check for mold. All work done cleanly, with no mess.

Afterwards, they did a thorough clean up after painting. It looks like new.

These guys are good!

Excellent... Highly Recommended!

Excellent experience from start to finish.

I recently contracted MCM to do a major renovation on the exterior of my home. Every aspect of the job was performed perfectly.

All of the people that I dealt with were excellent. Communication was fast and professional; all aspects of the work were fully explained/described before they were started.

The work was completed with extreme attention to quality and detail. The finished exterior exceeded my expectations.

Great company... highly recommended!

Full Exterior Renovation

We have just successfully completed a full exterior renovation project with MCM Home Exteriors.

We replaced and updated all windows, roof, siding, stonework, soffits, fascia, eaves and downspouts. This was no small undertaking on a 2300 sq. ft home considering our start and completion date requests.

The project began and concluded as per the scheduled timelines that we arranged with MCM.

The quality of the workmanship is simply unparalleled and the quoted amount of this enormous project is the exact amount that we paid upon completion. This is a rarity in the world of renovations and demonstrates MCM's commitment to excellence and maintaining the trust of their valued customers.

We have been solely working with MCM since 2003 when we were fortunate enough to begin our longstanding and trusting working relationship with the Owners, Managers and dedicated Crews.

We would recommend MCM to those looking for professionalism in the realm of renovations and trades, particularly if you are considering a project but simply aren't sure what questions to ask and where to begin.

We would trust MCM to work on our children's future home projects. That alone says a lot about our working relationship. The Auger's

Entire house exterior renovations

Professional staff. Top quality products. Renovations done in a timely manner. We had MCM do renovations on the entire exterior of the house. It started with the shingles, fascia, sofit and eaves. They continued with stone work, installation of triple pane windows and exterior doors throughout the house. MCM then finished off with extra insulation and Hardy Board. We also have a 16 X 20 shop in the back which they did the same renovations. Using one contractor for the renovations is beneficial for the seamless installation of all products. Would highly recommend MCM for exterior renovations.

New siding and insulation.

We found this company through the BBB; their A+ rating was very misleading. We made it clear that good insulation was a high priority for us; actually, the whole reason we were undertaking this reno. Not only did they use bottom-of-the-line insulation, they did no taping and, on parts of the house, nailed the insulation (with no nail-caps) onto bare wood or onto very torn 50-year-old tar paper. Luckily, we took pictures that proved this before we left on holidays.

If you're wondering "why didn't you say something while the job was being done?", we made several mistakes that people new to renos make.

1) We went away on holidays and didn't monitor the progress - we were far too trusting.
2) We didn't do our homework - we had no idea, until we talked to other contractors later, the importance of moisture barriers and taping joints when installing insulation.
3) We blindly picked someone through the BBB but now know it's SOOO essential to get someone with trusted references (by "trusted" I mean someone you know and trust who's actually had the company do work for them).

Please note that the siding aspect LOOKED great but the what's the point if you're going to have water damage down the road and your insulation is virtually worthless?

Another distressing aspect was this company's dishonesty. When we said that our neighbor told us that no taping was done and the insulation nailed onto bare wood, they denied it (again, the importance of taking pictures). They also said they used the best insulation available but that too was deliberately misleading.

The one thing we did right was withhold the final payment. With that leverage, we forced them to fix the job (at some extra cost!). My impression is that they never would have fixed it for the sake of their reputation or concern for our distress, they just wanted the money. When the siding was taken off for the insulation to be fixed, we were shocked that the job was even shoddier than we'd first thought. Bottom line, they didn't give a flying flip about our house at all and my advice is stay away from them.
