Earlier this year I asked a general contractor to look at some mold that seemed to be growing on the wall inside my utility closet, when he reached up to turn on the light he looked up and said, to my horror, “did you know that was asbestos”? Turns out there was a wood beam visibly covered with an Asbestos wrap, probably from 30 years ago and someone had even cut in to it to install a light bulb. I freaked out and immediately started looking up abatement companies and found Canada’s Restoration Services who were rated number one. They put me in touch with Alan of Allmax Home Inspections (who was also rated number one & deserves that title!) who came over to take samples of the asbestos and mold. . Within a week Alan called me back to tell me the air was clear of mold but I was still concerned about the asbestos so he came back and tested the air for asbestos. The asbestos test came back clear but just knowing it was there was making me crazy. I decided to go with Canada’s Restoration Services for the removal. Alex from Canada's Restoration came out to visit and have a look at the asbestos. He didn't seem overly concerned as it was in a contained area that was barely frequented, however he gave me options, walked me through the removal process and gave me a quote and left it to me to decide. He was knowledgeable, friendly and not pushy at all. I debated about what to do and decided to remove it. Alex sent Jason, a certified asbestos removal technician and supervisor to remove the asbestos. Jason and his partner were on time and really friendly and professional and made the whole process way less painful that what I was expecting. He walked me through the process and even called to give me updates. He even noticed some other suspect area's of mold. When I got home the site was totally spotless, and they had cleaned inside the utility closet and even removed old gross tiles and swept where it had never been swept before. When Alan came back to do the final asbestos tests he said he could tell just by the smell and the cleanliness of the space that the job had been done well. I was super paranoid that the test would come back showing asbestos in the air and I even called Jason and Alex a bunch of times and they were so patient putting my mind at ease. I think I may have been their most paranoid client!!! When Alan called a week later with the results that there was no asbestos present I was ecstatic.

Canada Restoration Services was highly recommended to clean our basement due to the presence of non-toxic mould. The job was explained in detail and all of my questions were answered. The crew arrived on time and worked solidly until the job was done. I was impressed at the professionalism of the crew, and their supervisor. They were polite and respectful of myself and our children. When my son was sick home from school, they did their best to be quiet so he could sleep. I really appreciated this. The crew was aware that my younger son was experiencing undiagnosed childhood asthma, and they took this to heart when they were cleaning the basement.
Due to an unexpected structural problem which Canada Restoration Services found and diagnosed (a water leak from our chimney) I was compelled to have the chimney rebuilt and part of a wall repaired. The staff at Canada Restoration Services knew that this structural repair was unforseen and a huge drain on my bank account. They were very kind and generous in allowing me to repay my debt to them over a 6 month period, with minimal haggling. They did not charge me interest or a service fee. Thanks to Canada Restoration Services, I have piece of mind that the basement mould has been properly cleaned, and that this company does good work to help families like mine. We recently performed a Kitchen renovation and were disappointed to find out that the old flooring contained asbestos. I emailed "Canada Restoration Services" fairly late in the evening through their website and Gabriel called me within 30 minutes of clicking submit. The floor ended up covering not only the kitchen but went through the dining area and into the front foyer. Gabriel and his team were very professional and friendly. They were very accommodating and took all the necessary precautions with containment, sealing and air scrubbing. We had a very tight deadline as this discovery was unexpected. Gabriel was very accomodating and the guys worked to get it done by our target date. Overall it was a positive experience and I would use them again on other projects.

From the first phone call I knew Gabriel was an honest and sincere person. Once he came at speedily as he did, within 30mins of my call, I was yet again impressed. He thoroughly went through the process and was very kind in his approach and speech. He really cares about what he is doing to which reflects in his great job!! I had a flood in my carpeted basement that led to some mould. Andrew from the Vancouver branch was quick to respond to my inquiries, set out a course of action and then explained the outcome. I was happy with the results. Things were left very clean and tidy and they took care not to damage paint when sealing off from the rest of the house the area that was being treated.

There is sometimes a simple moment of truth after making a weighty decision when you recognize either that you've made a good or bad decision. I knew I had made a good decision selecting Canada's Restoration Services when I watched Jason Campbell tape down a protective floor covering he was using to ensure his team wouldn't damage our floors. The covering would have been enough, but what really got my attention was watching Jason meticulously cut the tape so that it consistently formed a ¼" spacing away from the quarter round. Attention to details like temporary tape told me this job was in good hands. And it was. Jason and his team efficiently and meticulously removed boards, panelling and drywall (even the nails and screws that held the drywall), leaving no trace of the previous mold, and rendering everything ready for me to tackle the refinishing. Everything was done within the agreed price, and even a few weeks later as I write this, I'm still happy with the job.

From the start Canada Restoration Services dealt with me professionally and enthusiastically. On the day the team was to arrive, the project manager, Ken Ben-Gal, called apologizing that the company trucks with the professional equipment had been badly vandalized the night before. Eventually Ken had to call to apologize that the damage was too severe and they would need to reschedule. During that whole time, while the trucks were being inspected, Ken called me regularly to keep me fully informed. As soon as the extent of the damage was determined, he worked with me to find another time that fit my schedule. Sometimes it's adversity that shows the quality of a company, and Ken's actions evidenced Canada Restorations Services' well.

My wife was convinced that we have a mold problem and I saw myself ripping off walls and stuff.
