My husband and I were preparing to put our house up For Sale. During the Pre-Inspection the Inspector noticed water all over the basement floor and in our Furnace!! Yikes, we didn't want that in the report. The inspector said we could have blown the furnace up and he disabled it and told us to call for service.
I called Buttons as they had been highly recommended to me. The serviceman who came out said we needed a hole new Air Conditioner and Furnace too!! The price he quoted us was around $7300. We thought we had to replace them as we wanted to sell our house. Our Real Estate Agent said we would never re-coupe the money and was there not a less expensive quick fix?? I felt a little uneasy about the whole thing and was skeptical about the serviceman from Buttons coming to such a quick conclusion. We knew the Air Conditioner was really old but the furnace was only 2002 which is not that old!
I decided to call True Home Comfort for a second opinion. I got their # from a friend who was very impressed with them. Chris and Jason were able to fit us in the very next morning and came down to take a look at our Air Conditioner and Furnace. They established that the man from Buttons had rushed to judgement about the furnace and hadn't even turned the heat on to see if it was working! While they said they couldn't give us any guarantee about the life of the furnace, they said it was fine and in working order at the time of inspection. To make a long story short, they replaced the Air Conditioner (which was the cause of all the water in the first place) on time when they said they would, at the price they quoted! Thank You Chris and Jason for being honest, reliable and saving us about $4300. dollars!!! We have sold our house and move into our new home in November. The new air conditioner is working great and so is the old furnace!!!
