Jay and his team built a one floor addition on our home, redid the exterior of our house, and upgraded the floors and stairs in our home. We can't recommend Jay enough. I recently had the pleasure of working with Jay and his JH Construction team. We unfortunately had a dishwasher flood dishwasher flood that caused damage to various areas of the house including the kitchen floor and basement and basement washroom. We sought out the services of Jay and his team to repair the damaged areas in addition to remodeling other areas of the home.
From start to finish, their dedication and professionalism were evident in every aspect of the renovation. Jay and his team were incredible, reliant and efficient when renovating my bathroom, a staircase and a master bedroom closet. Jay was highly recommended to me from a number of my friends who have worked with in the past and he certainly met and exceeded his reputation. I really appreciated that Jay provided advice and direction on the scope of the job and had wonderful and fair ideas and input throughout the project. Jay and his team are punctual and hard-working, cleaning up at the end of each day of work. I loved that Jay takes pride in his work, which really showed in the final outcome. I really appreciated Jays communication and honest approach. I knew I could trust Jay and felt at ease throughout the renovation. Jay stuck to the timeline and budget, no unwanted surprises. This is the second time our family worked with Jay and his company. He put in an addition and renovated my daughter's entire house six years ago. The project was completed in five months, two weeks ahead of schedule, all within budget, and the result was a feast for the eyes. My daughter was so impressed with his work , she referred numerous friends to Jay for their house renovation. Ever since then, Jay and his company becomes our go to contractor.

I was contemplating adding a shower to my main floor powder room by utilizing an adjoining closet, also enlarging the shower in the master en-suite which involved closing up an existing skylight. Jay came and discussed the project with me in great detail, what needed to be done, how long it will take, and the various options to do the job. I felt so at ease after talking to Jay and the project was a go.

Jay's crew are diligent , nice, and very quiet. They worked from 9 am to 7:30pm everyday, and all the work was carried out in a workman like manner, very professional. Before they started demolition, they took great care in lining up the hallways and stairs with heavy duty carbon paper. Room openings, windows, chandeliers, and furnitures were wrapped in plastic sheets . At the end of the day, they cleaned up the debris and discarded the garbage. I was pleasantly surprised.

Jay is a very pleasant, nice, ethical, and honest man. He paid a lot of attention to details , he was well organized, and always very responsive to our needs. He always went out of his way to assist us in choosing tiles, vanity ,faucets ,mirror, and other items . He never compromised on the quality and finishes of his work, and set very high standard for himself and his crew. He took great pride in his finished product.

Our renovation was completed in eight working days, all within budget, stress free, and the showers look amazing !

I strongly recommend Jay and his company to anyone looking for a contractor for their renovation need.

This is the second time working with Jay and his crew. The last time he helped us was with our kitchen renovation. I found them to be reliable and am impressed with the efficiency and the delivery to the timeline as promised. This time, we hired them to do the renovation of a 2 bedroom + den apartment. The job involved the removal of pop corn ceiling, opening up entryway, renovation of the kitchen, 2 bathrooms, laundry room, and replacing new flooring. Despite the many challenges of working in/with the apartment ( such as limited working hours 9a.m.-5p.m. Monday to Friday, no allowance of garbage bin set up.....) Everything was removed and done beautifully on time and as promised. Jay coordinated the job well with the cabinet and stone installer. I seldom need to be on site, and the job was beautifully accomplished in 2 months. The crew are pleasant to work with, and they always try their best to accommodate to meet our needs/demands/ change of mind to do a good job . I have no hesitation to recommend Jay and his crew.

This was my second time working with Jay and his crew, this time a major attic reno that changed the roof line plus a new kitchen added to the job midway through. Jay is the absolute best. He provides a timeline and budget and sticks to them, he's hard-working, organized and thinks of everything: all the details that I might not have considered. He coordinated everyone and everything beautifully, solved any issues that arose and kept stress to a minimum. Highly, highly recommend.

We are so glad to have hired Jay and his team to renovate our semidetached home in Greektown. We renovated our kitchen, removed a wall, opened up the main floor, and installed new staircases with glass railings. The house feels like a brand new home, modern, bright and airy.

The quality of work and the speed at which it was completed was amazing. Jay is also very attentive to construction costs and gave us great advice on achieving our goals while saving us money where we could.

I admire Jay and his teams work ethic and the pride they take in the final product they deliver. We would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a contractor to handle their home renovation.

I cannot speak highly enough of our experience working with Jay and his crew. From our first meeting to our final farewell, their reliability, competence, and collaborative, positive attitude were constants.

Our job was not large, but it wasn't particularly simple either - it involved swapping the locations of a too-small bedroom and a too-large (and very outdated) bathroom as well as a variety of improvements in a third room. It involved plumbing, electrical, ventilation, penetrations to the exterior, etc. I'm an architect, and both my wife and I were quite particular about how we wanted all of the details and finishes to look in the end.

Jay picked up very quickly on what we were hoping to accomplish at our first meeting, taking notes, asking all the right questions, and even making suggestions right away about the best ways to tackle certain challenges. He provided a detailed and comprehensive quote that was quite reasonable, and importantly, he put realistic cost placeholders for all of the fixtures and finishes. We of course were able to select more expensive showerheads and floor tiles and the cost went up accordingly, but having those placeholders gave us a much more complete sense of the potential project costs. Every other contractor we talked to gave us quotes just for labour and pre-finish materials, leaving it as a matter of guesswork as to what the final bottom line would look like.

Once we agreed on a contract and a start date, Jay told us that it would take his team two weeks assuming we had selected/purchased all of the fixtures and tiles by that time. We thought, based on prior experience with contractors, "Two weeks? I guess we'll plan for four to six." Pessimism that in this case was entirely unwarranted.

We got everything in order for their arrival, and on the planned start date, Jay showed up with a team of six at 9:00 on the dot. Every day they worked diligently from 9:00am to 7:30pm. They completed the demolition in a single day (including removing 1.5 tons (!) of old tile and cement). They completed the plumbing and electrical in two days. They added in a full attic reinsulation and building of a new access hatch at a very reasonable additional cost and no schedule impact. They kept the house relatively tidy - setting up plastic sheeting, removing construction waste every day, and vacuuming the halls and stairs before leaving every evening. They were friendly and open to input, making small adjustments and corrections without a hint of complaint.

All in all, they completed their work in 8 calendar days. The efficiency was remarkable, but the quality didn't suffer. We were pleased with virtually every aspect of the finishing, and where we found small deficiencies, Jay and his team came back in a timely fashion to fix them. Other than the attic insulation scope (which we added of our own accord) there was not a dollar of additional cost. We were happy with every aspect of the process, and we're delighted with the result - a beautiful new bathroom and two much improved bedrooms for our kids.

I would recommend this crew without hesitation. In fact, I've already done so to half my friends! The experience was so positive that my wife and I are looking to take on other home improvements sooner than we'd originally planned, and there's no one we'd rather work with than Jay.
