We had major renovations and did our homework for all the trades we hired, except for the last project where we decide to spray foam (insulation) the main floor and obviously get new drywall... We couldn't find anybody to do the drywall that fit our schedule until we find those guys... When we came to the house, Luis was very pleasant and informative and price was very good too... but once he started I realized that it could be a disaster... He kept borrowing my tools, - if you do drywall, it is essential that you own a ladder, but not Luis.... but he told me several times that his garage was full of tools... Really ??? He didn't clean up after himself - once we had the new vanity sink installed in the powder room, he started used it to clean his tools EVEN AFTER I told him not to. Luis kept asking about other trades in the house and keep telling me that he could have done it cheaper...
Once the dust has settled and the mudding had dry, our painters have to do major retouch on ALL the wall that Luis did and I mean ALL THE WALL and joins. Even the doors that he installed had to be reinstalled by our carpenter. The money we thought we saved with Luis, at the end, we spend it to fix his work with our painters who did a much better job. Luis also worked with his son who seems to be a good kid, but have no skill or interest to do a good job; he took an entire day to sand our kitchen ceiling - and trust me, we don't have a big kitchen.
Luis was way above his head for our project and we would absolutely NOT recommend him for a medium to large project... If you're looking for a Jack-of-all-trades for small repair, he might be ok... but as for us, he will never step to our house ever again.
