My furnace stop working, so after a quick research online on HomeStars and BBB, I decided to contact Boomstra for help.
The customer service was very good, and the technician came within 3 hours of my call.
After a quick check and a phone call he told me that my blower fan is burned, and needs to change it but it is going to be expensive. He quickly mentioned $600 cost, but when was to prepare the bill I was told that the $600 quote is only for the people on the plan, so to get that I need to pay $160 for a year ahead and $660 plus taxes for a Level 4 ( Severe) repair. When I reviewed the repairs included in Level 4, he highlighted "inducer assembly" as the repair, while he told me that he changed the blower fan- a level 3 repair. That should have been $474 plus taxes under the plan, and $593 without a plan. I tried to call the technicians for clarification and left a message at the office, but he never called back.
Even more, when reading the small print, I found out that I singed for a one year plan, renewable if I don't call 30 days in advance and cancel it. While the customer service and work was OK- so far, the technician's ethical standards are not what I was expecting from what I've read online about the company.
I definitely plan to cancel the plan and never call them again.
