I hired Elite Appliances to repair my Ariston washer/dryer combo. I paid an initial $140 for the diagnostic and downtown surcharge fee. The machine was being used for the past two years and the washer was broken as the cycle stopped at a certain point and the clothes would not drain. The technician said the problem was a faulty door interlock which would cost $35.10 which I paid before the repair continued. The interlock was replaced and I paid a further $158.26. The machine still was not working.
I called into the office and complained that the technician must have misdiagnosed the problem. Another appointment was made for his return and I was told that there would be no further charge unless there was another part that was needed. The technician said that the machine was working and that we weren't operating the machine correctly which I could not understand because the machine was being used for the last two years and it was working perfectly. He refused to remain to ensure that the washer did complete the cycle insisting that we were at fault and stated that we needed to pay a further $140 for him coming back. I foolishly paid the balance.
The washer is still broken and the company refuses to acknowledge that they misdiagnosed the problem. It has been a very unpleasant experience with the technician as well as with the staff and I definitely would never recommend this company to anyone. To conclude the company has the audacity to send me an e-mail giving a $25.00 discount for the next service.
