Replace Control Panel on Stove

Control panel on our stove blew from a power surge a couple of months ago. I called some other well-ranked appliance repair shops on this site, and received quotes as high as $200 and some condescending attitude.
Appliance Healer was by far the best shop I talked to. The quote was entirely reasonable, and he was fast, efficient, and installed the board perfectly!
I would recommend him to anyone.

Oven Repair

I called about an oven repair-over the phone he could tell me it was not worth fixing as the cost would be comparable to buying a new oven. I greatly appreciate the honesty and would definitely call again for all needs and recommend to friends. He could have wasted my money by coming and charging me to tell me the same thing. Very honest

very satisfied with dishwasher repair

Completely satisfied with this service. After problems with a dishwasher that had been incorrectly installed, I paid a plumber and a Sears repairman and dishwasher still required a part. Because the dishwasher had been incorrectly installed in the first place, I was informed that the dishwasher was unsafe to use in its current state. However, Sears would not remove and reinstall a dishwasher that someone else had installed. After getting the necessary part from Sears for the Kenmore dishwasher, I contacted Toronto Appliance Repair. Service was prompt and satisfactory and, after months of washing dishes by hand, I now have a dishwasher that is working.

Dishwasher repairs

As a property manager of several small apartment buildings in downtown Toronto, it is not uncommon to have issues arise with appliances. I have now used Appliance Healer on numerous occasions
.
Samson and Tinna make an awesome team with their combined knowledge, professionalism and commitment to customer service. What is most impressive is that they showed up exactly when they said they will, work diligently, inform you of what the issues are and then fix the problem. Simple, straight forward...no mumble jumble that trades often try to baffle you with.

These are two of the most honest, respectable tradespeople I have ever worked with.

Combo/washer dryer repair

Samson and co were wonderful to work with, professional and courteous throughout my dealings with. Sometimes it was hard to get a hold of (due to nature of business) but he always got back to you. I had a washer/dryer where the dryer component was not drying very well. The first diagnosis did not correct the situation. A part was ordered which cost quite a lot but in the end would've been necessary in the long term as the old one was in bad shape. He did come back and we managed to find a solution. At the time I was moving, and I appreciate the fast response as I needed the appliance to be repaired in leiu of the new tenants moving in. Also he takes the time to explain what's happening and was very patient and waited to make sure it worked properly. Overall it was a great learning experience and I will recommend him to my friends and family. All the best, Catherine

replace motor pump in high end dishwasher

great PERSONALIZED service and great to know you can count on a company in TORONTO when you live in WATERLOO, they took care of me and my tenants perfectly, efficiently and promptly!

it was a pleasure to deal with the company not only did they do incredible work, BUT also another company was charging me $600 plus HST JUST FOR THE PART (it was an expensive part but still) Appliance Healer gave me a number where i could order it directly and i got it for $325 with shipping right to the condo where it was needed!!!!....so what an incredible savings....i saved $310 including tax from the first company...they basically marked up the parts by 100%!!!!!!!!!

it would be a shame for you to NOT call on such a decent and honest company to support them due to their high integrity

thank you so much for all the great work and huge savings too!

Front-load washer repair

I wish my story could be better, but Samson's lack of support and rudeness in this matter - passing the phone to Tina who repeatedly shrieked "why are you calling us?!" - compells me to let potential customers know ... An incorrect diagnosis , leading to the purchase of an unecessary part, left me in the hole for approx. $250. (A friend took a quick look at the washer, plugged in a loose wire, and it's been running eautifully since.) Asking for some help in how to unload this part - thinking Samson would be able to suggest through his connections - my calls were first ignored, then I ended up with the above treatment from Tina. I am not an unreasonable person, and am very sympathetic to independant business people, but cannot let this level of unprofessionalism go un-noted.

Company Response

First of all a very special “Thank You” from Samson and Tinna to all our loyal customers who appreciate our efforts and have written a nice review to help build us up and make the world a better place!

Sorry we don’t have time to personally reply to each and everyone who gave us a nice review, reasons being we hardly even get time to eat and sleep like normal people as we try hard to make everyone happy with our services. :)

For those of you who don’t yet know who we are… Let’s set the record straight on this bad review as we shed a bit of light and facts about what happened… sorry it’s kind of a long story but if you want to know the truth before trying our service of appliance repairs then you just might like to know our side before believing we would purposely do something bad to anyone that would cost them more then they need to pay.

Please read on…

We did go and spend two hours diagnosing this front-loading washer with “the spinning problem”. We removed the spinner board and checked it and traced ALL the wires in the unit from top to bottom

[Hence the taking two hours to complete this tedious diagnosing.]

After nothing obvious was found we ran the washer and physically moved each connection trying to find the problem, nothing could be found.

Leading to our final suggestions and opinions about what to do…
A. Try replacing the spinner Circuit Board (I gave a recommendation where to buy the new board from and expected to be called back to finish the job if this were to be the choice of action and quoted her only $40. for our return to install the new board.)

or

B. Replace the whole washing machine; whichever is more affordable in the long term.

At this point we only charged her $50.00 for spending the 2 hours of our time doing this wire tracing with our voltage meter and other equipment. We do take our job very seriously and do our personal best for everyone. Perhaps we undercharged for our time and efforts that particular day.

What Happened After That…
The Customer Calls me back after 3~4 weeks very upset and tells me that she had ordered the board from the internet because it was cheaper and had someone else install it… however they found a loose connection and the machine works 100% now and she don’t want the board that cost her around $200 and expects me to buy it from her or refund the $50 for my two hours of work accusing me of “wrong diagnosing” and being very demanding using a very bad tone of voice over the phone on three different occasions and on different days.

I was also upset after I heard this news because of several reasons…
First of all I know and my wife knows also because she sat there for two hours watching me and helping yet we could not find any bad connections.

Next is the Shock that she did not even allow me to finish a job that I started. In the Professional world of business there is a certain code of ethics in which once a contractor/ worker has accepted a job and has it half done they should be allowed to complete the job… It would of only cost her $40 more for us to go back and finish the job. How can I know what happened inside that machine if another person opens it and works inside?

I tried to explain that if she had of bought the circuit spinner board from my supplier perhaps I could per-sway them to take it back if in fact there truly was no need for it. Also that if I were allowed to finish my work and seen with my own eyes that I had been wrong about the diagnosis then for sure I would give some sort of discount from our Labor fee even tough we spend more then enough time there. She clearly did not understand me and started to shout at me while I was driving using my hands free device and everyone on the street could hear her!

I gave the call to my wife because it was distracting my driving and my wife told her that if she thinks we are so “un-professional” then “why do you keep calling us”. This lady don’t stop talking to listen for our response so my wife had to repeat it several times to be sure that she could hear what she was saying… the lady told her that “she would handle it on her own” and “hung up” on my wife, very rude of her in my opinion and very wrong of her to expect us to work for free. Now she is trying to ruin our perfect record of nice reviews and take away the work from our future in hopes to destroy our business I can only assume.

If we could afford to do work for free and still keep food on our table then we would offer free service calls all year around, however life is not like this and we all need to make money to survive. I feel that we earned the $50 and don’t owe her anything, what would you do if you were in my situation? If you Believe that I should return her $50 and allow her to manipulate us after she would not allow us to even complete the job then send us a text message at 647-637-4220 or e-mail us at appliancehealer@gmail.com with your reasons why we should help her after all this trouble she is putting us threw and we will carefully consider the reasons and perhaps even give her a refund when we can afford to do so if ever.

Thank you for taking the time and interest in our local business.

Have a nice day everyone and keep smiling :)

Sincerely Samson & Tinna… Appliance Healer: 647-637-4220

Old Maytag dishwasher did not drain

We had an old Maytag washer that stopped draining all of a sudden. I was worried that it is too old to fix. Samson came on the same day I called; on the phone he was courteous and professional, which speaks a lot to me. I had called this other company at first (name ends with "Guy") and left a message, and I was not impressed with the person's attitude when I finally spoke to him. (I was not able to reply to the messages until late afternoon, and he was mad when I told him that I found another company. What did he want me to do? Just ignore his messages?)

Anyways, I am SO glad that I ended up with Samson and Tinna, The Appliance Healer. I was thoroughly impressed with Samson's skills, he explained every step, what he has ruled out, what he is going to try now, etc, and share some knowledge that we never would have known (who would have thought that clothing can fall between the cylinders!?). He gave us tips on how to prevent it from happening again. He came across as an honest guy who truly wants to help out, and he KNOWS his stuff. It was a pleasure to watch him work. Samson and Tinna are both nice and courteous, they are the epitome of top service, and the fees are very reasonable. I would definitely use their service again, they have raised the bar of what I expect from companies like this.
