drywall taping and plastering

Ryan and his crew appeared professional when they first showed up on a Friday and I was confident enough to pay them a $250 deposit upfront. They were to start 9am Monday morning but I was not able to reach them until 2pm Tuesday afternoon after repeated calls and messages. An omen of things to come. They used inferior material (paper tape) which did not hold up under stress, not once came when they said they were (never less than two hours late; extending into two days late; leaving me with what they called ‘minor sanding’ which took 1 ½ hours to complete, asking me to prime prematurely (there was so much that needed finishing work, that it became necessary to prime twice, since too much of the walls had to be sanded after priming); not cleaning up after themselves and leaving the floor in such a state that it took 5 hours to clean the plaster from it; and finally, not returning to finish the job (I paid before the job was done because I trusted them to come back to finish), so that I had to hire another contractor to finish the job.

Ceiling popcorn removal

Ryan and his crew smoothed over a popcorn ceiling we had in a bedroom. They were prompt and very professional. They ensured that the job was done on time/budget and that everything was clean throughout the process. I will be calling them back in the future to complete the rest of the house.

Drywall patching, Ceiling Stucco

Please don't judge a book by its cover. When first meeting Ryan and his workers they seemed a bit young but the job they did was excellent. They patched up holes made by a plumber and the whole front hallway was missing the roof. You can't even tell there was work done there. They came out and did an estimate and the week after the work was done. They did an excellent job and they were very professional! I would highly recommend Ryan and his crew for your drywall taping needs.

Drywall patching, Ceiling Stucco

I have to say don't judge a book by it's cover. The guys did look a little young but did an amazing job. Ryan and his team came out and patched up a bunch of drywall that had been cut out by a plumber. The whole front hallway was missing the ceiling. They also sprayed stucco on the ceiling. I'm very pleased with the job done and the professionalism of the workers. Also, they came out one week for an estimate and the work was done a week later.

Taping, Mudding, Sanding

We pulled off the lathe and plaster, insulated and drywalled two bedrooms (3 walls in total). RP Renovations came in to finish the job. Ryan was excellent to work with from start to finish. The job was done quickly, quietly and neatly, on time and on budget.

taping

Attention! All people who need a plaster man. From personal experience I suggest not hiring Ryan, due to the fact that he took the money without completely finishing the job. He no longer picks up the phone or replies to his emails. Try to avoid hiring him.

Company Response

Job cost $2100 all materials supplied by RP Drywall Taping. Scope of work - Fix uneven joints, cracks and do a wall-to- wall skim making all walls prime ready.
Will be posting photos ..
Job estimated to take 4 days, was in there for 8 days .
As Indicated before the start, due to age of the house, and the fact that it was painted multiple times, and that its a full wall - to - wall skim that there is a chance that a few spots would bubble after primer is applied .
It was agreed that there would be a visit after priming was done to do the touch ups

At that point in time the amount of 1800 was recieved and 300 held back for the touch ups and what ever the client was unhappy with, if at all .
So the job was finished as per regular standards.
Everything was coated wall to wall, even an un-level wall that was coated about 5 or 6 time to meet the satisfaction of the client. Everything was sanded with a light and even touched up with tinted color plaster that the client suggested, so he can see where to sand as he claimed he might have to do the initial sand before his painter starts painting.
Most times that up to the level of finish we do for all of our clients.
The coming back was voluntary, as per the nature of old houses and the fact that sometimes it bubbles after the primer is applied and we have no control over that.

Waited a few days for client to prime even made contact to find out if and when its gonna be done,
After it was primed client did call we made arrangements but unfortunately the job i was doing took longer than txpected and we could no show up and we indicated that to the client.
We knew he have a dead line and wants to get stuff done but at the same time we have obligation to the jobs we are on and just cant leave like that, its not professional, ideally it would be done on a schedule just like any other job.

Hope this give viewers an idea of sometimes when companies get a bad review that sometimes all the facts is not stated .
And not every job goes as smoothly
Still looking forward to making a schedule appointment with this client.

mudding and taping my kitchen, back room, and skylights

I installed the drywall in my kitchen and back room with skylights and a cathedral ceiling. I'm not an expert drywall installer and knew the mudder and taper was not going to appreciate filling in the large cracks. After 4 quotes Ryan came in with the best price and was polite, instilled confidence, and was conscientious. He and his crew made my do-it-yourself project look like it was done by a professional. After the job was done his crew cleaned everything up. I highly recommend these guys. You won't be disappointed. Ryan is hard working, professional, and honest and his pricing is competitive.

Remove popcorn ceiling

I used Ryan to remove all the popcorn ceiling in my townhome. Not only was his price significantly lower than the other 4 quotes I got, but he was in and working in a matter of days after we spoke. He was professional, efficient and even gave me a good price on patching up some of the drywall on my walls. Would highly recommend Ryan.

drywall taping and finishing basement

RP Renovations was good at what they say they will do. Ryan is professional, works neatly, and he is also a pretty nice guy. He is also reasonable with pricing extra work he did. I recommend him and his workers to do taping or drywalling or stucco.
