We hired Lipa Interiors based on a word-of-mouth review from a respected source. We had just moved into our first home, and were looking to get a bunch of major renovations underway -- the electrical, basement, new fireplace, kitchen update, built-ins in the bedroom -- a lot of projects actually. The most important item on the list was the electrical, which had not been fully updated in fifty years, but which previous owners had attempted to fix, albeit unsafely.
Lipa Interiors found us a electrician. It took about a month to get the repairs done that the ESA demanded from their inspection. After that, we would replace all the old wiring to new wiring. This needed to be done immediately for insurance purposes. The electrician told us it would two weeks. The final ESA inspection took place six months later. After weeks and weeks of being held hostage at home because the electricians said they would show up but never did, we finally had to demand a schedule and finish date from our contractor. After this meeting, the working rate improved but not drastically. In their defence, the work that was done was done well. But slowly, so, so slowly.
Unfortunately, we will not be recommending Lipa Interiors to anyone, nor will we be contacting them for any of those major renovations we were hoping to do in the near future. I'm still willing to give the benefit of the doubt, maybe it was just our project that was neglected. The person who recommended this contractor to us, never had any issues. That being said, be upfront about your timeline and be prepared to make a lot of pushy phone-calls if you want the job done on schedule.
