Toronto City Movers

A client of mine had hired the company but could not be there when the movers arrived but assured me that he had made arrangements with the owner regarding price and had left me with the agreed upon amont. The movers showed up late and almost immediately started complaining about how much bigger the job was etc...and how it was going to cost more. I won't bore you with all the details, but in the end it was much more than quoted, the movers were surly and slow and an overall unpleasant experience. I too could not get a proper receipt from them. Do yourself a favor and use someone recomended here.

Toronto city movers are absolutely terrible. I felt extremely uncomfortable with my movers as they called me inappropriate names. Such as sweet cheeks and baby. They tried to charge me more money for various bigger items such as my tv and mattress! They moved like snails. The owner Alex called me a child and would not listen to me when I wanted my complaint dealt with. I’m still waitin for my receipt too. Would never recommend them. In fact I’m going to do what I can so no one has to go through what I did with them.
I have so much more to say.... I'm in a hurry. People just need to know how awful these guys are!!!!!!!

I hired Toronto City Movers to assist me in moving from my two bedroom into a three bedroom apartment. I was quoted by the owner of the company...good luck getting a 'real' name, that it would take two hours to load and two to unload at a rate of $60. This would total $240 for there services. I too understood that it may take them a little longer, and if so, I was willing to pay that. Two gentlemen arrived at my apartment and stating that they had to start right away, asked me to sign a contract. I too was in a rush getting last minute things together, and signed the contract expecting that it outlined what we had previously discussed. I asked for my copy of the contract and was told that they get it to me promptly. They arrived at 9:30 and did not finish until 3:00pm. I am a single person with little belongings and had even dismantled and unassembled much of the furniture that they were to move. When they finally arrived at my new apartment, I had less than one hour to move in due to my building policy. As soon as they arrived at the building, they stated that they would not open the truck until they received a full payment which they now stated was $720!!! When I called the 'owner' of the company at the number listed above due to utter frustration, I was told that it was not his contract and that he had lent his truck to a 'friend' for the day and gave me an alternative number. When I called him, I was asked what I expected him to do and why I didn't call earlier. When I asked for a guarantee that the job would be done, I was told that if I wanted it done, to help them. When I asked for his name, he told me to look at my contract and hung up. When I demanded my copy of the contract, the movers no longer were able to speak English. From this point on, they no longer brought my belongings into my apartment and left everything in the lobby, obviously not assembling anything. At utter frustration before they left, I demanded a receipt...all of a sudden, their English came back enough to get in my face and say....'do you really want to F!#* with me'. I stood my ground and finally got a receipt and they left. I still can not believe that this happened and that this happens everyday to others. This has to stop! Please be aware and do not use this company to move with; they are nothing but scam artists!

I had a lousy experience with these guys and would advise you to stay away. They originally quoted me a reasonable price. Upon arrival, the movers told me that there was also a 10% fuel surcharge, and a 5% surcharge for paying by visa. Also, the moved me for 4 hours and 15 minutes (after giving me a 2-3 hour estimate quote), but charged me for 5 hours, but when i tried to get them to stay and move some boxes around, they left, saying they had another job to get to. But not after bullying and intimidating me into giving them a big tip.

The movers were really lazy too - they took their dear sweet time loading up the moving truck. Took them 2.5 hours to load up my fairly small place, and I don't even have that much furniture, but they took the smallest armfulls, and took everything with the 2 of them (the boxes weren't that heavy) I know they were messing with me because the unloading went super quick (when they had another job to get to)

I called the company to complain twice, 2 weeks later they still haven't called me back.
