We propose Darlene Dauncey to withdraw her ungrounded accusations which resulted in submission complaint to Homestars.com:
Darlene Dauncey entered into contract with Meridian Windows & Doors (Alberta) for replacing 5 windows (1-in living room, 3-in three bedrooms and 1- in bathroom) and front door on February 06, 2013.
She signed a contract with Edward Kheyfets, our representative. On February 06, 2013.
At the day of her meeting with Edward when she ordered her windows, including a window in a bathroom - she complained about her painters who left some marks in her bath tub, so it has to be reglazed in future.
Also she ordered a front door. And front door can be manufactured 36" or next size 42" slab is available. 38" slab is not an option in manufacturing process. 36” door was installed in the opening with rough measurement of 38”.
Upon installation she wrote a letter to Edward dated March 26, 2013 where she says “Very pleased with the windows and door and the installation except silicone work outside…”
However Meridian Service Department responded to her letter and arranged our representative and installer to come and inspect raised issue with caulking on a place in the next 2-3 days.
Upon inspection we can assure that caulking is done in professional way and to the best knowledge of our certified and experienced craftsman.
Also she called to office and requested $350 for tub reglazing. Few days later she called again and demanded $500 for tub reglazing.
Conclusion:
1) Her complaint about ruining her tub with chemicals(!) is not true. Foam gun used for placing foam as well as caulking gun cannot be cleaned by water at all. Water is not a solvent for foam or silicone. Apparently that she wants to reglaze her tub at Meridian expense. Her tub, according to her words she said to Edward had been marked by her painters before we came to her place.
2) Her complaint about caulking is not reasonable. She is not a certified installer and her words in this regard should not be considered as a word of a specialist.
3) Meridian installed 36” door which can match her door’s opening as she ordered . A slab with 38” cannot be installed instead of 36” slab.
It is obvious that Darlene Dauncey is apparently trying to mislead those who can read this.
Having consulted our legal consultants we were advised to initiate legal actions including actions with Provincial Court of Alberta to stop blackmailing us and prevent ruining of our reputation and rating with BBB. Meridian Windows & Doors (Alberta) Inc. has over 7,000 happy customers in Calgary only.
