Two jobs - leaking ceiling and running toilet
We awoke last week to find water dripping from our kitchen ceiling. My husband removed a section of the ceiling and we were able to see a pin hole in the copper piping (at an elbow joint) for the bath tub on the second floor above our kitchen. We called Waterworks because of the reviews we read on Homestars. It was the weekend so an answering service took our information and Michael called us back later in the day and set up a time to come later in the week. (We set up a bucket to catch the water to keep the water from ruining more of our ceiling)
Michael called about an hour before coming to the house to ensure that someone was home. He and his apprentice arrived when they said they would and were very friendly. They assessed the hole in the pipe and told me the price to repair it. They had the equipment and parts in the truck and were able to fix it right away.
We asked them if we should replace more of the piping to prevent future leaks, before closing up the drywall. They said not to start replacing pipes unless we started to get more leaks.
While I had them in our home I asked them to take a look at a toilet that runs all the time. I didn't realize how much water I was losing and how much I was paying for that water. Again, they were able to look up the price for the job, they had the parts and equipment in the truck and were able to fix the toilet right away.
Both jobs were completed within two hours. The price of the jobs was exactly as quoted before they began. I don't know if the cost was more or less than the competition because I didn't get any other quotes. I am very happy with Waterworks - they arrived when they said they would, they cleaned up the work area, they were very friendly and offered a lot of useful information on the plumbing in my home. I suppose that the real test is the longevity of the repairs that they did, but for now I am happy with the repairs.
