appliance service

I purchased Electrolux appliances from the Brick with extended warranty from Trans Global. Both the appliances and extended service are lemons. The technicians have tried to do their best. The call center for Trans Global is infuriating. A Simple service call can take from 15 minutes to an hour. The gas range had parts replaced with defective parts and is more or less working. The dishwasher has had the same part replaced three times. If you deal with both companies (they are related) be prepared to jump through hoops and become frustrated. My advice - don't deal with either company, you will get poor service and end up wasting your money.

Electrolux Range

Worst Worst Worst Service of all......Our Electrolux Range decided to die on us on the 15th of Feb....Code F10 (appliance overheat). At first we tought it would be all OK...we had extended warranty....Well yes but how good are they....well it's been almost 2 weeks that the entire range is unplugged no Top no Range....nothing and they are still evaluating if they need to replace it or fix it......2 weeks without cooking for our 4 kids.....and perhaps another week before seeing any actions.....This is ridiculous this is costing us (family of 6) more than 100$ per day in restaurant fee....at this rate I've have paid for 2 Range out of my pocket.

washing machine stopped working

I now deeply regret purchasing an extended warranty from the Brick for my Samsung washer, dryer and Transglobal service is the service company. After 7 weeks my washing machine is still not fixed....
Oshawa, Ontario.
Washing machine stopped working with a full load of clothes inside on December 20, 2013.
On December 20, 2013 I placed a call to Brick Service partner Transglobal Service and they provided me with a Work order number and the customer service rep stated they would have a tech on site Dec. 23, 2013. Tech arrived on site January 9, 2014.
January 9, 2014: The washing machine technician requested circuit board and front door parts from Transglobal Service and the parts should be on-site within 7 days.
January 16, 2014 - called Transglobal Service requesting status of my washing machine parts. I was told by the Customer Service Rep (CSR) that the parts cost too much money and had to be approved by senior management. I told the CSR I was promised the parts to be delivered by January 16th and why was I not notified of the delay.
January 20, 2014- called Transglobal service again, since they had not called me back. Informed the parts should arrive by January 29, 2014.
January 22, 2014 - parts are in.
January 25, 2014 - Tech arrived to my home . Tech discovered that Transglobal service has sent him the wrong circuit board and he requested the proper circuit board from Transglobal service.
I also called Transglobal service spoke with CSR to inform them that they had sent the wrong circuit board. I told CSR again that the washing machine is utilized by a lady with three daughters and that they desperately need a washing machine.
January 28, 2014- called Transglobal service asking when the parts will arrive, they did not have an update on when parts will be available.
January 30, 2014- spoke with CSR and he informed parts will arrive on February 7, 2014.
February 7, 2014- spoke with CSR told me parts will be in by the end of today.
February 8 , 2014 - called Transglobal CSR stated they are not sure when the parts will be in.

washer breakdown

Same old story. Got conned into buying the extended warranty for a new washer and dryer. The washer worked OK for little less than a year, then the washer's door locking started malfunctioning, so I couldn't use it. Called TG, they said it would take 1 week for the technician to show up.

I told them what the problem was, for them to tell the tech people to order the part (door latch), to save time (not fun going to the coin laundry place). When the tech showed up, he did not remove his dirty boots when going into the house, looked at the washer machine, saw the problem, and said "yes, it's the door latch, it'd take 10-15 days to get the part". And left.

I called TG and told them a piece of my mind. I was not a happy camper. Luckily, the door latch lock (basically a magnet) started to work again after a few days, and it's still operational. Somebody from TG called me a couple of weeks ago, saying that some body would call me to book the installation of the new latch the following Monday...that was last week, still no call from them.

Beware of The Brick extended warranty. It may work for some electronics or lemon products, but not for appliance repairs.

Maytag Stove

Just less then 2 years of having this Maytag Stove I went to do a self clean when an error message popped up. F5E0. I have used the self clean prior to this with no problems. So I called the Brick who tells me I have to call Transglobal to have them repair it. Fine. I called and spoke to a CSR who set us up to have the tech come out to repair it. Pretty simple. NOT. The tech gets here, looks at the stove, pushes the buttons, looks at the stove again, takes out a book to look at what the code means. Hubby pulls out our guide and shows the tech. The tech then opens the back panel and says, "It needs a switch". Closes it back up and says "the part will be in on the 26th you'll get a call 2 days later for repair". I call on the 28th and the earliest date they can repair is Dec 2! They never called us I had to call them! NOT ACCEPTABLE! By the way that was pretty much all the tech had said the whole time he was here. Not even a Hi or hello not even an introduction of his name! So I asked to speak with a Manager who tells me he will send an email and see if it can be fixed prior to Dec 2. I'm guessing I won't hear a damn thing from him. I told him there is no way I will buy another appliance from the Brick because of Transglobal! NEVER again!

microwave

When our over the range microwave started to fall apart in several places just after our warranty was up we were recommended to Transglobal by Electrolux. We were able to schedule an appointment fast and the tech was really nice but after he left we noticed there were two broken pieces on top of the microwave near the panel he would have had to take off to fix the microwave. We called to have him come back out and they booked us an appointment. Hubby took the day off work and the tech didn't show up as planned. When I called in they said he was coming and they would follow up. The tech then called my husband angry saying he never broke a thing and was not coming back. I called back and this got escalated to the supervisor (apparently). We had also noticed the parts he repaired falling apart and mentioned this on the call also. After sending photos and my husband making a video which we've posted to YouTube now showing how horrible the service was we were left with a bill and a broken microwave and nobody to help us as this company said they could not. This is one of the WORST customer service experiences we've ever had. We wouldn't recommend this company to our worst enemy and we've told Electrolux the same (mind you they are not much better themselves and we'd never buy from them again) as a just over 2 year old microwave that was expensive should not be garbage already.

LG Convection Range

Bought from The Brick with 5YR warranty. 5 TIMES they change parts on that oven. First time was 6 month after we he receive the oven. I call Transglobal many many times. Last time I ask for replacement, they said they will fix it as long as it is warranty. Talk to The Brick store. No luck...ah...Send me back to Transglobal, finally spoke with a supervisor. Right now my oven still not working. Technician come and fix it, leave with a smile and less than 1 hour later, call back Transglobal because the oven doesn't work again. Keep having error code. Already change 5 parts.
We have had 7 calls, they are not standing behind there no lemon policy. Never deal with them. Next time we will buy from different store that doesn't deal with TGW...

LG Refrigerator

Worst customer service I have ever had in my life with Trans Global and the Brick!!!! I would NEVER purchase another product of any kind there again. I purchased a LG Refrigerator and payed for an extended warranty as well. No joke.....within one week of the warranty expiration my husband noticed smoke coming from the direction of our fridge. He opened the door and poof....black smoke right in his face. Inside up where the lights are suppose to sit in under a cover plate was nothing but a melted black glob of smoking plastic. Damage included light bulbs, cover, reflection pads, right and left gaskets, tabs and a few other parts that were ALL melted and damaged. It was such a blessing we were home to find this or we would have had a fire in the house. I called the Brick first and was shot down completely because my warranty was expired. Nothing I could do so I had another repair company in. Well, he tells me that my LG fridge had been recalled years prior due to this exact issue. I was flabbergasted! I called Brick back who sent Trans Global to my home in which I was told there was NO COST due to NOT notifying me of the recall. The service technician comes (nice guy) needs to order 7 parts. Get this....I have to pay for 4 of them even thou all are melted in some way or another. Apparently, not on the recall list of parts covered on the manufacturers list. If I had been informed there was a recall I would have had it fixed and NO PROBLEM! Do to The Brick's irresponsibility we wouldn't be in this mess to begin with. The customer service supervisor Carol Anne was completely rude and obnoxious while I myself was taking the polite approach to the conversation. Still didn't get me anywhere. I contacted LG customer service and explained my story. They were amazing! A technician of their own will be coming tomorrow and completely repair ALL parts with NO cost to me. The Brick and Trans Global should be ashamed of themselves. Be Warned and Be Very Afraid!! Take some time to look up all appliances and make sure there hasn't been a recall.
