Rowan and his team were such a pleasure to work with! I was in need of a company to come out and adhere custom nosing under our upstairs railing. The entire railing/spindles needed to be removed, install of the new nosing, and then the existing railing/spindles put back. Rowan was quick to come out after my initial inquiry, even quicker to reply with the quote, and was consistent with his reliability when scheduling measurements and day of completion. His staff were a pleasure to speak with, and the two gentlemen who did the install were professional, efficient, and exceeded my expectation with the final project! I would highly recommend Premium Stairs & Railings to anyone considering them for a job!

I had major renos done at my home including the removal of my stairs and installation of new ones.

The good:
Newly installed basement stairs are good — no complaints.

The bad:
I was told the stairs would arrive on a certain day and took a day off work for this. PSR did not show up nor did they respond to texts or calls, this continued throughout the process.

The newly installed stairs were measured incorrectly and instead of fixing it were simply put in and I realized there was nothing but subflooring underneath them now bracing them as well as them not alligning correctly with the upper set. The upper set of stairs were not only installed in such a fashion that they were leaning down (got fixed) i realized after the flooring was installed that they are also on an angle (not fixed) which is extremely prominent now. They took back the main staircase to "fix" and instead of replacing the incorrect stringer added a fake wood paper they glued on the inside.

The entire process was a disaster from communication right down to the installation and caused a great deal of stress and never got resolved properly. I had to fire them and have the railings and stain done by another company.

Avoid at all costs.

VERY POOR WORKMANSHIP.
I had a complete overall of my basement with multiple trades coming in and out of the house. None of them had to be called come back to fix anything.
This company had to come back several times to fix all the mistakes/damages that were made. Eventually I requested that they do not come back as they were incapable to fix their mistakes and I don't think they have the skills to do a good job.
I would never recommend or work with them again. They ask for premium prices but the work that you get is way below the price they charge

After underpinning our basement, we needed a brand new staircase built and installed to satisfy the new building code. After meeting with Rowan we were immediately drawn to his charm, constructive ideas, and patience with our many questions.

Rowan worked with our staggered schedule (as a result of working with so many trades to finish our basement) and left us with a lovely oak staircase, painted and stained to our specifications. Premium Stairs also installed 2 oak support posts in the basement.

Anne, Rowan’s assistant, is an absolute GEM. I have never dealt with anybody more professional, pleasant, and considerate through a renovation project. Anne is one of Rowan’s secret weapons—working hard behind the scenes to ensure that the outcome of the job surpasses your expectations. She consistently responded to my many e-mails extremely promptly, and always communicated with me every step of the way in a transparent and intelligible manner. She is an anomaly in the industry in the most wonderful way possible.

Although we had a few concerns with scheduling, we are pleased with the outcome of the project.

Rowan and his team were very professional and definitely know their job. Rowan gave me a quote for the work and they started on time and finished on time as well. They were very concerned with the quality of product they delivered and this really shows in the end result. We have a beautiful new staircase with wrought iron pickets and it looks fantastic. Premium Stair and Rail just completed (October 2015) updating our main staircase from carpet to Oak with raught iron rails. We are very happy with the finished project. The stairs are the first thing you see when you enter our house and what an upgrade! Rowan and Anne are so helpful. Paul and James the two installers did a great job and were easy to talk to. You will be very happy if you choose this company to upgrade your stairs. I am sure our house has increased in value due to there work!
