Thank you for your review GMB. A Level 2 EV Charging Unit is the best way to charge an Electric Vehicle. Charging at the higher voltage of 240 Volts is much faster than plugging into 120 Volt. Thank you Kat. You are correct - some basic Light fixtures are something that a homeowner can install themselves. The Ontario Electrical Safety Code allows homeowners to install 2 things in their home without acquiring an ESA permit - Light fixtures and Switches only, as these are deemed very low risk by the ESA (The Electrical Safety Authority of Ontario). Some people choose to install these themselves, and others choose to have professionals install them. I would agree with you that you could likely install a basic light fixture yourself. Thank you Robert, for your review here on Homestars. Scheduled maintenance of a standby generator is very important at least once per year. This is in addition to the weekly exercise program that should always be programmed to run the generator automatically. Sadly we often find that generators installed by some contractors have not been installed properly. Cold weather kits (Canada does get cold in the winter) have not been installed, the exercise program has not been set up, and generators have not been properly registered. By replacing the old devices (switches and receptacles) in your home, and remaking all connections at light fixtures and junction boxes, your wiring now meets current standards for Aluminum Wiring. Adding Ground-Fault Protection (GFCI's) where required, also brings a new level of safety from electric shock.
