I bought my house a year ago, this company is the workst in Canada. they left a lot of work ondone and cheap material with posibly cheap labor. I cannot even use my side door due to wrong measurement that someone got apporved. the wooden floor is so terrible that we are already looking for a loan to replace. the entire top part of the house was left uncovered u can even see the nails from outside.
They took the money and left us to figure out how to solve their mistakes.
this company is the worst and i am surprise how they are still running

New Home in Regina

Do not buy from this builder!!! They will sell an incomplete home and promise to finish up before possession date. They have a team of realtors who aid them in decieving you to make a downpayment. Once you make that downpayment , your horrific experience has just started.
They will ignore your calls, emails and will insist they are not obligated to complete your home. It has been the worst home buying experience ever and I repeat, stay away from Rohit communities it will only lead to regret and loss of your hard earned money!!

Customer service

Waterline was poorly installed. Runs right beside the front door against an exterior wall and over to the furnace room. What happens when cold air from an exterior wall meets a waterline? Freezing!! Winter of 2021 our waterline froze. They came after us not having water for 48 hours and cut major holes in the ceiling and the wall to trace the waterline in order to find the frozen part. They thawed the line and left holes in the wall for a couple months before coming to fix it. No matter how many emails we sent, they never came to fix the issue. All they did was stuff some insulation in the wall and close it. They wouldnt put a vent in to allow air exchange and easy access incase of another freeze. Fast forward to winter 2022 and guess what happens? Another freeze!! This time they came and cut more holes in the wall in order to find the frozen spot again. Turns out they didnt resecure the waterline to the inside wall, so this lead to a freeze against the exterior wall again. It has been about 2 weeks since this happened and they still have not messaged about someone coming to fix this issue. Numerous emails have been sent, despite the manager telling us the email would be sent that day. I do NOT recommend rohit to ANYONE. They will ignore you until you are out of warranty and then say oops, you have no warranty they are an extremely greasy company with no respect for the customer. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!! TERRIBLE BUILDERS TO DEAL WITH!!

Never ever use Rohit!

The attached photo is just one of the many issues Ive had with Rohit builders since I aquired the property.

The photo is the half bath sink that has detached itself from the countertop. No screws or anything was used when installing the sink.

The furnace, in winter, as soon as the deep freeze temperatures hit the furnace shuts off i no longer get any heat. When its -40 outside thermostat will read 15. No heat. This has been happening since year one and ive been submitting claims since year one, through Alberta New Home Warranty as well. Nothing was ever done. They told me things like "all doors need to be left open to get heat". They gave excuses that didnt make sense year after year until it was no longer under warranty then continued to refuse to do anything about it. At one point I called Epcor and they took a look saying the furnace is not getting enough oxygen when the temperature dips due to the slope the pipes were installed at. I let them know this and still no help.

Customer service is non existence with this place and warranties not honored. I will never ever recommend this builder to anyone.

A massive stressful mess

Everything was great when I first arrived, but as time progressed, Rohit didnt fix things in a timely manner. Everything was a fight, my frustration built up to the point where I was a sobbing mess. I went a year thinking my deck was included and not been built. They led me to believe it was just a delay for well over a year before they finally looked into the matter and told me it wasnt included. I was led to believe there was masonry on my front like every other house on the block only to find out my house was the only one not included. The front post isnt even finished and they slapped on some primer telling me thats how its supposed to look. The light switch was leaking water and it took them over a year to fix. My house is drafty in the winter and my furnace has a hard time keeping up. Honestly avoid Rohit altogether. I will never recommend anyone to buy from them.

New Home

First, they never gave me the 35 day to possession letter they are supposed to send. They called me a week before possession to tell me the date. They moved the possession date, but again did not send the letter on time. I called and emailed several people at Rohit over the course of days. Nobody answered the calls, responded to the voicemails, or responded to the emails. I got the letter a week late with my name spelled wrong. I called and emailed again over the course of days with no response. I finally got a hold of someone and got the letter a week late. The letter states that I would be charged penalties for a late possession even if Rohit sent the letter late.

After possession, I realized they left a metal ramp on my driveway (the ramp that is supposed to go on the yard before landscaping). I called and emailed over the course of days. They responded late, without enough information, and never followed up (despite me asking for a follow up multiple times). I couldn't park on my own property. After a week I got fed up with the lack of communication and took apart the ramp myself. Then the ramp installers finally showed up and said they kept telling Rohit they can't put the ramp there, but they wouldn't listen. They also said installing a ramp there can damage the driveway, as they told Rohit. Rohit refuses to look into who made that decision or why, or issue a proper apology beyond "for any inconvenience".

There was a thick layer of ice under the ramp (the ramp prevented it from melting). My driveway was covered with metal shards, screws, and nails, and many of them were stuck in the ice. Rohit insists this is a normal part of winter possession. They also refused to clean it because breaking the ice would "void the warranty" of the driveway. They told me I couldn't even clean it myself because it would voice the warranty. When the ice melted, I cleaned it myself. They never followed up even though it was their mess.

There was a giant pile of construction waste on my yard spanning almost the entire width. They refused to do anything for weeks. Then, the one day it snowed heavily, the site supervisor came and took a picture when it was covered with snow and said there was "nothing there". During my one month review, I pointed it out because the snow melted again. When they finally cleaned it up much later, they left the base of the pile. I had to make them come back to finish the job. They also tracked mud all over my driveway. I made them come sweep it before I drove over it.

During my possession walkthrough, I pointed out a scratch on the window. They confirmed it was a scratch and recorded it in their form. When I brought it up later, I was told that conversation never happened. When I forwarded the form sent to me by a Rohit employee they said they just didn't have that form until I forwarded it.

Since I moved in, people contracted by Rohit have been blocking my driveway with their vehicles. Once they blocked my driveway overnight with a trailer. When I complained, Rohit said they monitored who is parking in front of my house and it is not Rohit. Then I sent them pictures. So this was the third time they insisted something didn't happen only to be proven wrong. Their response was that because the street is technically publicly parking, they don't care and won't event attempt to ask the contractors not to block driveways.

So they don't communicate properly if at all, deny things happened when they did (and refuse to look into it properly), then deny responsibility when they are proven wrong.

Update: I noticed they only ask homebuyers to leave a review on Google/Homestars if they say they are satisfied with how a ticket was resolved (and not if they say they are unsatisfied). So they are trying to artificially skew reviews towards only positive ones. That should tell you how much faith they have in their own service. I have also not heard back from the multiple times I sent them feedback.
