Our horrendous experience with Joe, the owner of Stone Tech began in August 2011. Joe wowed us with his apparent knowledge and expertise. We hired Joe to provide a complete face lift to the front of our stucco and stone home. Joe began work on our house in October 2011. The winter was mild, so the crew was able to complete most of the construction by the end of December, under plastic tarps. Joe was attentive and on the job until he received the third instalment of fees. Then the nightmare began. We tried to get him back to complete the outstanding work and repair "finished" work that was falling apart. The worst was the stucco. The stone work was also sloppy with globs of cement mortar hardened on the new mahogany front door, the stone face and the newly installed flagstone porch. The wrought iron railing was already showing rust when it was installed. Joe ignored our frequent calls and emails including photos. Occasionally, he promised to come but he never showed up. We began legal proceedings in July, 2012 and in August, Joe brought his crew back to redo the stucco. He also scratched off a bit of the mortar mess on the stones, but much of it was left.
Today, I had the wrought iron railings and window insert removed. The extensive rust developed in just one year because none of the iron work was galvanized. Even the screws corroded, (who doesn't use galvanized screws?!), leaving large rust stains on the flagstone. We may sue to recover our losses.
