Centennial Windows & Doors

We are not a hundred percent satisfied with the final result of our new windows and doors but Centennial worked with us to resolve as many issues that came up as much as was possible. We are happy with the windows themselves however are not completely happy with the style of framing around them. The front door is very nice and we like it a lot.

We recently had all of doors and windows replaced by Centennial and we are not happy with the final result at all. The windows themselves seem to be decent quality but the problem is with what is going AROUND the windows. The windows that were installed inside the existing frames were double framed which made for much, much smaller windows -- we are losing about 30% of the glass area which makes our already dark rooms -- even darker. In addition, the frame on top frame factor -- in combination with clunky frame of the new window -- make for an unattractive visual result with ridges, edges and countless folds and layers of frame upon frame. What used to be simple and clean is now sloppy and ugly. Centennial put their own frames around a couple of our windows too. One of the frames is extremely cheap looking and so narrow that we unable to install blinds inside of it. The other frame (going around a large bay-window) is not bad looking because installers damaged our wall and had to bring a bigger frame to cover the damage, but again, done in a way that makes it impossible for us to install blinds where blinds really need to go. As well, the salesman didn’t tell us that frames (or supporting panels where existing framing was used) would come in the form of unpainted raw wood. No idea who will paint them and when, in the meantime the house looks like an inside of a log cabin. The thing that perhaps bothers us most is the fact that our brand new windows do not look good from the outside at all. We went with beige surround because beige is the color of the siding of our house but the white windows look very bad with it. Centennial does not seem to have a concept of what’s visually appealing. Originally, they had our focal bay-window done up in all white while the window just next to it (and all other windows) were framed in beige. After we asked them do something about that, they added beige framing which we were thankful for. However – still not looking right with mismatch of styles and proportions and the beige and white not looking good together to begin with. Huge amount of money spent on this – and we wish we had our old windows back.
