Kitchen Renovation

We met Tony at home show in 2009. He promised a high end kitchen for half of the price. Tony played it really well to gain our trust. We made a contract on Nov 2009 and paid 50% deposit. We were supposed to have the kitchen installed by the end on Feb. That never happened...
We tried to contact Tony in many occasions but he was no longer available. After leaving many messages, finally a guy named Allen called us and began to make up excuses. The factory workers are on holiday so all the orders are behind the schedule, next time he told us factory moved to another location, and so on....
At this point we knew that they are being dishonest.

A few days ago on April 22, 2010 On the News there was a report on Renoclub and what they are doing to people. A lady in Toronto was showing her apartment, she had a contract with Renoclub for months and still no kitchen and no closet. She had the same story, paid 50% deposit and did not hear from them. TV crew went to Renoclub office and no one opened the door. The neighbors told the TV crew that no one has been coming to the office for weeks.

Now that we know this is what this company does, we will not rest until we get our money back and we will make sure they get what they deserve. We are taking legal action against them. If you are in the similar situation with Renoclub you could contact us by bahare_kave@yahoo.com

Reno for kitchen

I ordered a kitchen Sept 2009, was told it would be here by Nov 2009. its now June 2009 and i was given another delay. The reasons for the delay change every month. now they are advising financial problems. This company is unstable and immoral. If anyone is owed money I suggest you go to your local small claims court and file a claim against Reno club and the owners personally. You can sue on your own upto $25k without having to go to a higher court.

Charged by Ministry of Consumer Affairs & got my money back after 7 yrs

Met Tony at a home show, got a quote in April 2009, asked to see some installed kitchens in July 2009 as references before committing or signing the contract, received a written guarantee from Tony "in fact,I will say right now and you can use this as a written guarantee that if you are not satisfied with the kitchens that you see then we will fully refund your deposit on the spot." With this guarantee, I gave a deposit in Aug 2009 as required by Tony in exchange for references. Until now, never saw any installed referenced kitchens to my satisfaction. Some staff in charge of coordinating with me resigned. Told Tony that I no longer have confidence in Renoclub delivering a kitchen and requested Tony to honor his guarantee to return my deposit. Tony refused to return my deposit even though conditions of contract never completed. I am still hoping that he has integrity and would like to protect Renoclub's reputation....will post update whether I have a happy ending or not.
The Review Title said it all. If they are still in business, beware.

Kitchen

My experience with Renoclub is exactly the same as those of zaffir and B.K. who have written reviews also. The only difference between their stories and mine is that I waited twice as long and paid twice as much.
I am only writing this review because of a review written by "lucy of Renoclub (I mean Woodbridge)" that has since been removed. I had no idea that this company had so little integrity that they would allow their accountant to write a bogus review to try to bolster their reputation - how shameful.
You know, my money is long gone and I am moving on with my life but this has to stop. Excuse after excuse that the owners are not around or away on business or emergency family issues is nonsense. They don't answer calls (they have call ID - they choose which calls to take), they don't answer the door, they don't know when kitchens are arriving, they don't know when repairs will happen, they don't have a priority as to who's issues will be dealt with first. What they do know how to do is gain your trust and take your money.
Did you see the Global TV reporter banging on the door of Renoclub to try to get a reponse from someone about that story that aired? He also reported that he left several messages that no one responded to. Maybe he should keep calling. Hey Sean O'Shea, let us know when they answer. I am sure we all have a few questions we would like answered.
I know that we all feel terrible after having dealt with Renoclub (and not having felt satisfied with the outcome) but there is hope. We have rights as comsumers and we should all be sure that we express and exercise those rights. Cut and past the link below into your browser and file a complaint with the Ontario Ministry of Consumer Services. Follow the links on filing a complaint, follow the instructions and have your say. It's absolutely free.

http://www.sse.gov.on.ca/mcs/en/pages/default.aspx

If enough of us file a formal complaint, this situation will likely get the attention that it needs to shut this operation down, have Renoclub slapped with a $50 000 fine and maybe even a bit of jail time(two years less a day)for the owners.

If they won't give any of us our money back, we should at least have the satisfaction of having Renoclub and its owners pay in some way. Do your part and spread the word. Put your tax dollars to work and take advantage of resources like these.

Designer Kitchen, Washroom vanities,Walk in closet, Et

As many have had some bad experiences with the Reno Club and it,s owners. I want to clarify for all my experience with them and hopefully put alot of customers at ease or try to explain the process.
I was introduced ny Reno Club by a very good friend of mine. They came highly recommended. I did call them and met with Tony Stewart for what we needed. We are building our dream home and needed alot of work done. Tony came to my office sat down with my wife and I and we went in detail what we wanted. We than proceeded to the house and Tony right awat invisioned what we wanted. We liked his way in conducting business agreedon a price that was 50% less than any other local kitchen supplier. gave Mr Stewart a deposit and we were ready to tackle the project. There Designers were great in coming out with designs and took alot of attention to detail and made sure all measurements were correct. From the process of signing the agreement and actually finalizing the actual design took approx. 2 months. This was normal to me as we all had to make sure all was going to be correct. The product is made in China so I didn't mind this.
The next phase which took longer than normal was our product actually to get started. As for the chinese new year and the company ibn China moving locations we had some delays. again Mr. Stewart apologized for the delay and assured us that our order was coming. Again as I deal with China myself I know that delays are normal. We are now happy to know that our order is on its way and that Mr Stewart and his company has given us all shipping details and bills of lading that our product is arriving. All of this has checked out fine. We are now just waiting for the final product to be installed by Leo and his team who are very good at what they do.
On a personal note I know some customers may have had a bad experience or are going through one with the Reno Club. I assure you that they have did alot to get there company back into proper running order. The company itself in China whom I have spoken to apologizes for all the delays. Its unfortunate that Mr Sterart and reno club took alot of the blame.
The story on Global was far fetched and they should have called Mr Stewart and he would have abliged to answer any questions.
When our finished product is installed i will be writingan update for all to read. To date we are very satisfied.
If anyone wants to contact me directly .Please email me @ idoleyes@rogers.com. I will be glad to talk to you.

New kitchen

I met Tony and came to his showroom. From the home show to the meeting it was all about the "Luxury kitchen" at half the price. All talk. I should have known when he met us and within an hour he sketched our kitchen out and gave us a quote. Not to worry he said " I am partners with the factory and can get granite as well at cost.

Buyer beware... after the excitement and the potential of having our dream kitchen we gave him the deposit. What a mistake. 3 months later and excuses after excuses.

The factory made mistakes with shippments
Its held up in customs
The designer erred and we had to order another one.
Then the biggie.....
"We cant afford to realease the shippment and if you pay another $5000 it will be released. Otherwise you may loose your deposit and kitchen!"

Once bitten..twice shy.

I went to the office and met this lovely lady in the parking lot who said Tony made her promises and when she got mad he stopped taking her calls.

What kind of person feeds on innocent people. Is he a bad business man or a downright scam artist. I thought l was the only one but now l have learned about at least 5 others.

He is a thief and a bad person and should go to jail.

I have resigned myself to the fact that l may never get our kitchen.

But then again, it was too good to be true.

Buyer beware...

Kitchen Renovation

We are so pleased to have found Reno Club thanks to HomeStars. We contacted a few companies for a consult and quote based on reviews we found here and, ended up selecting Reno Club because of their great selection, quality and price. When you find a great "deal" there is always the concern that you will "get what you pay for" but, that is not the case with Reno Club as, the quality of the product and, the professionalism of the installation crew was exceptional.

I would recommend Reno Club to my friends and family looking for a beautiful kitchen at a great price.
