Sectional

THE WORST RETAIL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Never shop here. Bought a couch and did not custom order because we read the reviews of how long it took. Made sure the model we wanted was in stock before paying for the sectional. When our sectional came in, we decided to pick it up ourselves rather than use delivery. Issues we had:

Financing option. We decided to finance the purchase rather than make a full payment. Mobilia does their financing option through Desjardins. Our saleswoman, Reshma, did not provide us enough detail on how this process would work. We filled out a form but had to go in on three separate occasions because she failed to inform us of all the documentation we would need to provide. We finally got it straight when we ourselves called the financing company. We made one more trip with all the necessary documents - only to find out that an additional one was needed. Why could she not have told us from the beginning what was needed to process financing? Anyway, at this point we were sick of all these trips to the store and decided to pay it all in full. Which we SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO DO because as customers we have the financing option. I feel like the system is set up in a way to reject financing so that they can get the entire sum up front.
After making the full payment, Reshma basically shoved us out the door without clarifying/stating details about picking up our furniture. It felt like now that she had the money, it really didn’t matter what happened to us and the purchase. She failed to communicate to us that their warehouse is closed on Sundays AND only open until 3:30 Monday to Saturday - DESPITE the fact that we were discussing in front of her when we would arrange to pick it up. After a failed attempt at picking up our furniture because the warehouse was closed, I went to go speak with Reshma. She basically blamed me as a customer for not knowing when the warehouse was open and accepted no responsibility and essentially yelled at me. When I asked for my money back, she told me all sales are final and there was nothing that she could do - which we were never previously told. When I told her this was a poor customer service experience, explained the reviews online, and told her I would never shop at the store again, her exact words were “That’s fine. I don’t care.” What sales representative would ever say that?? She offered no help, no other options, accepted zero responsibility and did not apologize for anything. She did not care about that fact that we spent a lot of our time making trips to the store for financing, and now for pick-up, and was not at all sympathetic at the inconveniences we had to go through. I’ve received better service at a McDonalds.
Why is a warehouse for pickups only open until 3:30 during the week and CLOSED on Sundays? Who is picking up furniture in the morning and afternoons during the week? I would rather they be open on the weekends and evenings to allow accessibility for their customers. Again, it feels like they are forcing the delivery option onto customers.

As another reviewer mentioned, the salespeople here really are sleazy used car salesmen, especially Reshma. She hyped up financing when we were considering making a purchase but did not bring it up at time of payment. We had to make a deposit first - which I guess would have been non-refundable if the financing didn’t go through - which I doubt it ever does.

Do yourself a favour, do not shop at this store. Even by being careful about what we bought, we've still had to deal with awful customer service.

Queen size upholstered bed

I purchased an upholstered bed that was in stock. It arrived in one week time as they promised.If I wanted to buy different fabric it would take a long time so I decided to go with what was in stock. They arrived on time,assembled the bed .I was pretty satisfied.Sales person in store in Burlington was really nice,not too pushy but helpful.

Dinning room

We bought our extendable wood dinning table and buffet from there. They have modern furniture. Compare to other stores they have some nice and unique furniture but they are expensive. and they don't have good exchange and return policies.

living room

WE WENT O MOBILIA WHEN THEY WERE HAVING ONE OF THERE YEARLY WAREHOUSE SALES. SINCE WE WERE CHANGING OUR DECOR STYLE, WE WERE STARTING FROM SCRATCH WITH OUR LIVING ROOM FURNITURE. ALTHOUGH WE PAID ALMOST FULL PRICE FOR OUR KEY PIECE, THE COFFEE TABLE WE ENDED UP GETTING 2 EXCELLENT END TABLES AT 80% OFF WHICH IN THE LONG RUN SAVED US ALOT.

horrible quality

I have bought a 6 piece conversion sectional in January 2008. At the time, husband and I wanted a piece of leather furniture that would last us at least 10 years, and we were ready to pay the price.
After we chose our sectional, we were told it was Italian leather.
The delivery went smooth, everything was fine, except a year and a half later, we noticed a small tear in the corner of one of the seats, and a few more around it where it looked like the leather was bubbling.
We went to the store to inquire about this, but were informed that they only have a 1 year warranty, unless you pay for more.
This is also when I learned that our "Italian leather" was nothing more than Chinese bycast!

3 years after owning the furniture, the seats were practically falling apart.

And I haven't bothered fixing it, as I will replace it pretty soon.

It is almost 4 years after we bought this, and one of the seats is totally peeled off, the ones that have been used less, are in the process of peeling off.....I'm sure in a year or so, all of the black coating will be gone.

I will never buy from Mobilia again.

sectionals

Worst service, substandard furniture. Never comes when promised or as promised. Damaged and don't replace it. They want to repair brand new pieces instead of getting you the undamaged merchandise that you rightfully deserved. Who wants to wait months for damaged leather and have brand new things repaired? Salesman used to sell cars, so that should tell you how shady he is. Will not financially reimburse you a percentage for faulty furniture. And yes, most of their furniture is in fact Italian leather but the production is in China so the quality is not even close to what you might expect, and it is definitely not the quality that you are paying for! Don't do it. Even if some pieces look pretty in the showroom, just run the other way!

Order of custom upholstered bed and sofa

I ordered my uphosterled headboard/footboard and rails on July 16h is a custom fabric. I was told approx. 12 to 14 weeks, whic would bring me to October 22nd. I ordered a custom order couch on July 20th. I was told approx. 10 weeks. I have not received any feedback from the salesperson I worked with. I have constantly had to track her down and ask for updates. She indicated over and over again that it was too early to check on the status and she would get back to me. I called a couple times and the recepionist put me on hold several times, never telling me that my salesperson was with a customer. Just called again today and the manager has indicated that my sofa order is not scheudled to arrive until the first week of October and delivery sometime affer, which is beyond the 10 weeks. His customer service was terrible and he was very unaccommodating or understanding of my frsutrations. My bed is not scheduled to arrive until the end of October - which I have been sleeing without a bed for over two months and now it looks like it will be over three months. The bed is scheduled to arrive beyond the 12-14 week timeline. The are unable to compensate me for my delays and they are very bad in customer service/communication with clients. I have never received such poor service when purchasing furniture. After I receive my furniture, I will never go back to them again. Think twice about going to Mobilia.

leather sectional

After reading all these reviews on Mobilia I am petrified to get my new leather sectional. I hope it is in good shape and it arrives on time. The salesman was wonderful in the store but reading all these bad reviews is really starting to make me wonder whether i made the right decision here.

Sectional, chairs, accessories

after many visits to several stores I only liked the sectional, chairs and accessories from mobilia but I was afraid to buy from them due to so many poor reviews. I decided to buy colors they had in stock, no special order. I received the products in a week, delivery, installation were punctual, respectful, no issues. The sales person was excellent and let me chose without pressure. I am glad I gave them a chance. My room look really great and I am going back to buy a king bed this week.

Sofa

I was looking everywhere for something stylish yet comfortable. The specific design was really important to both me and my husband and mobilia had form and function in a lot of their pieces. A friend had recommended this store to me, I had never heard of it before.
.
The staff were also really helpful and friendly, they explained absolutely every detail from picking the fabric and colour, to finding a sofa for us, and letting us know about delivery.
.
I would definitely shop there again!
