Admirable 2000 Limited

In Year 2000, Admirable 2000 Homes Ltd, a family owned business with knowledge of design and committed to quality built my new R2000 home. From the very beginning, I was involved including the design and construction process.

Charles and his staff did a great job! They did hardwood flooring, painting, kitchen electrical and preparation for new cabinets, new bedroom doors, etc. I was very happy with all their work and kept adding to the list of things for them to do. They were very helpful in giving advice when it was requested. They always showed up when they said they would and kept me informed as to their progress and next steps. I would recommend them to anyone wanting something done well.

I used Admirable 2000 Homes ltd because of their quality and attention to detail, trust, skill, and experience with providing house extensions using energy efficient building materials. The project manager was diligent on providing the necessary permits ,schedules inspections with the city and the workers were very respectful and reliable to our questions and concerns.

Charles has been a good help to build my home, he knows the new ways of building, build better for a reasonnable cost, help me control cost and want to do better....I guess Marc suffered on his finishing from my project,we timed it to be started summer 2007 but city paperwork and adjutement to the budjet pushed me to not start until spring 2008, now dry wall is completed boiller is running, we'll be working on floor with Dave (the best and most meticulus carpenter I've ever meet and I've got lots of trade people in my familly)...
We started the project with his son, Chris (very good boy that didn't mind work) one of the Navy cadet Billy, great guy too, I was sad to loose him when he had to go back to school at the end of august, chris left us after we poored the ICF to help a local farmer with a project, but I got my handes dirty and we build the best house we could... next week the heating system will be running and the Kerosen heater used for the last 2 weeks will leave the house. and if it's and indication, my main fram computeur will provide enought heat to keep the basement warm 99.5% of the year....TankS Charles and his knowlege to build wright, better than Mike Holmes...

But what do I Know...Just a Pilot

This builder told us he built one house at a time so he could get it done right and quickly, but he was building another house at the same time as ours and told his crew to cover up for his absence. He took 648 days from the time we signed the contract until the final occupancy inspection passed. He went off on a vacation to Australia before our house even had the exterior finishing completed (stucco etc), and never came back to finish it. I ended up having to hire an electrician to complete the electrical panel work and install numerous exterior plugs and light fixtures. He didn't do the grading as per the contract - he left a huge ditch that you can even see in the Google satellite images. We had to find people to hire to do the grading and bring in topsoil, etc. He didn't build the house properly according to the plans (doorways are too small). He had only one experienced crew member and hired a bunch of people who were neighbours or were with his son in cadets. He had his crew improperly install a heating system that doesn't work properly and the manufacturer won't warrant because it wasn't done right. He misrepresented facts to us all the time. He billed us for his mistakes, even when he said he wouldn't (!!!). He failed to supervise or provide even basic training to his crew. He billed us for tools that he bought. He billed us for his crew's time when they were on another job site. Had to chase him for 6 months to get the caulking completed - the guys would show up and do some caulking and then disappear because "they ran out of caulking", then it would take another 6 weeks to get them back. For five months, the only way we could get into our house was through the garage door. Subcontractors were perpetually threatening us with liens even though we had given him the money to pay them. This was a nightmare.

STAY AWAY FROM CHARLES AND ADMIRABLE 2000 HOMES!!! You will save your sanity, your health, and your money!!!
